ROBINS ISSUE #1 REVIEW

Hey O&G fans, after a long hiatus working on other projects, I’m back!! Today I want to talk about ROBINS a new 6 issue mini-series written by Tim Seeley, illustrated by Baldemar Rivas. Now we all have a favorite Robin whether it’s Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, Stephanie Brown, or Damien Wayne. If you ever wanted to know what would happen if they all got together…….. this is the book for you.

The six-issue miniseries will see all of the aforementioned Robins– both former and current– gathered together to dish on being a Boy or Girl Wonder. They have to team up to solve a mystery, though, as an unknown figure claims to be the first Robin, preceding even Dick Grayson’s tenure.

Who this mysterious Robin is, will probably be revealed by the end of the mini series. The first issue starts with a wild scene and then jumps into the action. Dick Grayson pulls all of the Robins together, first for a mission and then a chat where all hell breaks loose. I don’t want to give too much of the story away. The first issue will get you into the story and definitely have you wanting the second issue sooner than later. A must pick up for any Robin fans.

The series will be available to DC Universe Infinite subscribers first, before hitting comic stands a few weeks later. Robins #1 will hit DC Universe Infinite on October 26, followed by comic shops on November 16.

Young Justice Outsiders 3 ep review

Hey O&G fans, the wait is over and Young Justice season 3 is finally here! We first met Young Justice’s team of sidekicks almost ten years ago, they were still side kicks trying to be independant heroes of their own. Young Justice  gave each of its young heroes arcs of personal growth and evolution. The stories made it clear why certain characters simply had to figure out who they were outside of their relationships with the Justice Leaguers.

Now fast forward two years after the REACH Invasion was stopped, the team goes through another change. NightWing takes a break from the team leaving Aqua-Lad (now Aqua Man) to lead the team. The team has added members as well as lost some ( Kid Flash-Dead which resulted in Artimis retiring). The Young team also now shares the watch tower with the rest of the Justice League, giving them access to everything and everyone.

Season 3 starts with an unresolved issue from Season 2, Meta human trafficking. Children are still being abducted and used in experiments to bring out their meta gene, so they can be sold as weapons to the highest bidder. Nightwing  has been investigating and shutting down facilities on his own with help from Oracle, but needs extra help to find the real source.  So he recruits former members of both JLA YJ for his mission.

After the first 3 eps. I feel they are taking this series down a darker path than the first 2 seasons and so far they are doing an awesome job. Betrayal, loss, and minor defeats, each member of the team is being tested. I don’t want give too much away because  it is worth the watch. In the first episode alone you can see more than few side stories developing that are episodes themselves. Overall the series is off to a good start. My next review will be after episode 12 half way through the season to see if it keeps the same pace.

MILESTONE will Unviel it's New Line-Up at NYCC

DC Comics' revived Milestone Comics is scheduled to "unveiled" at New York Comic Con, says DC Co-Publisher Jim Lee (via Publishers Weekly). The announcement will reportedly take place at October 5's "Robert Kirkman: The Walking Dead, Invincible and Beyond" panel, tying into word that Milestone will be featured in Kirkman's AMC docuseries The Secret History Of Comics.

Milestone's Denys Cowan and Reggie Hudlin are expected to be in attendance.

Originally founded back in 1992, Milestone began publishing comics in 1993 as an imprint of DC Comics. Although DC later integrated some of Milestone's characters into DC's core superhero line (including Static in the 2011 "New 52" relaunch), Milestone retained ownership of all its characters and had merely licensed usage of the characters and the content they produced in the 1990s to DC.

Milestone Media was reformed in January 2015 by Reginald Hudlin and two of its co-founders, Denys Cowan and Derek Dingle. Later that year at 2015's Comic-Con International: San Diego, DC announced it had reached a deal with the company to once again license the Milestone IP for usage as a comic book line and in other media.

"We couldn't be more proud and excited about the opportunity to bring the 'Dakota' Universe back to DC," said Lee in 2015. "This is a huge step forward for us in bringing readers a more diversified lineup as part of the new DC Universe, and we're anxiously looking foward to telling new stories that are socially and culturally impactful and representative of the world in which we live."

At the time, DC's plans were for a seperate line co-existing in the broader DC Multiverse but in a seperate dimension, 'Earth-M' (which Lee reconfirmed this month). There was a plan for titles including Static Shock, Icon, Rocket, and Xombi, with creators including Hudlin, Cowan, Geoff Johns, Jim Lee, Bill Sienkiewicz, Ken Lashley, and Christopher Priest. In addition to reviving Milestone characters of the past, Milestone Media said they'll also be introducing new characters and including new creators in the mix.

In August 2017, Milestone Media was sued by Charlotte McDuffie, the widow of the late co-founder Dwayne McDuffie. McDuffie is suing the company and its officers for "Breach of Fiduciary Duty," "Aiding and Abetting Breach of Fiduciary Duty," "Intentional Interference with Prospective Economic Relations," "Fraudulent Conveyance," "Civil Conspiracy To Commit Fraudulent Conveyance," and "Accounting."

Justice League Dark Review

Hey O&G fans, DC has released another animation in the Justice League series. Justice League Dark is the continuation in the Justice League series (JL War, JL battle for Atlantis, and.....) Here is a bit about the story: All over the world, people suddenly begin panicking as they start to see everyone around them as demonic monsters and end up killing a good number of innocents before the members of the Justice League can stop them. Deliberating about this strange outbreak, most of the League's members come to the conclusion that magic must be involved in this. Despite his own past experiences with magic, Batman expresses his skepticism and walks out; but as he returns to Wayne Manor to rest, he is temporarily possessed by Deadman, before he regains consciousness and finds the word "Constantine" written all over the walls.

Note: The Justice League Dark originally featured John Constantine, Madame Xanadu, Deadman, Shade, the Changing Man and Zatanna. The team consists of the more supernatural members of the DC Universe, handling situations deemed unfit for the traditional Justice League.

REVIEW

First thing fans can get excited about is the return of everyone's favorite occult investigator Matt Ryan as John Constantine ( well atleast his voice ). This is perfect since the CW announced they'll be continuing his adventures as animated shorts. JL Dark is one of the few R-rated animated movies (don't know why it rated R not much other than language), which it hopes to gain more viewers. The Title is Justice League , but other than a few appearances, the only member throughout the movie is Batman.

The story opens when some really horrific crimes start happening in Gotham City and Metropolis. A woman mows down innocent pedestrians with her car. A guy holds his wife and children at gunpoint. A woman is about to toss her baby off a building. The thing is, all of them swear up and down that the things they’re mowing down, holding at gunpoint, and about to chuck off a roof are demons. The Movie is as dark as the title suggest, with mood, actions and back stories about the characters. That said, there’s also plenty of humor in the film, too. This is about John Constantine, after all, who never met a wisecrack he didn’t like.

One thing I really loved about the movie is you find out how powerful Zatana really is! I'm trying not to give too much away, but damn! The introduction of characters like Deadman and swampthing shows fans DC is really expanding and not just using the same heroes and villians. The voice acting is always on point. Matt Ryan is just as brilliant voicing Constantine as he is playing him live action with Jason O'Mara reprising his role as Batman/Bruce Wayne.

Overall this 115 min movie is worth the watch. The story and action  will keep you entertained through out, It does justice to the main cast of characters by telling their tragic origin stories and showing off their quirky personalities. I'm giving Justice League Dark4 stars out of 5.

Batman-The Telltale game series First look

SAN RAFAEL, Calif., June. 12th, 2016 -- Leading developer and publisher of digital entertainment, Telltale Games, with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment, today unveiled the first look at BATMAN - The Telltale Series ahead of its worldwide debut this summer.

The episodic game series will premiere digitally on home consoles, PC/Mac, and mobile devices, and will be shown to guests attending the annual E3 Gaming Expo this coming week in Los Angeles. The series will also be available on game consoles as a special 'Season Pass Disc' which will be available at retailers across North America, Latin America, and Europe later this summer, granting access to the five episode season as it becomes available for download.

"We've been hard at work at Telltale creating an all-new iteration of the iconic Batman story that puts players in the suit of billionaire Bruce Wayne, just as much as it will put them behind the mask, deciding how to carefully navigate a complex drama, rich with action, crime, corruption, and villainy lurking around every corner of Gotham City," said Kevin Bruner, Co-Founder and CEO of Telltale Games. "The complex life and fractured psyche of Bruce Wayne has lent itself to becoming a bold evolution of the signature 'Telltale' role-playing experience, and we couldn't be more excited as we prepare to debut the series to players across the world this summer."

Rendered to look like a living, breathing comic book, Telltale's vision of Batman will feature an award-winning cast of talent, including Troy Baker in the role of Bruce Wayne, Travis Willingham as Harvey Dent, Erin Yvette as Vicki Vale, Enn Reitel as Alfred Pennyworth, Murphy Guyer as Lieutenant James Gordon, Richard McGonagle as Carmine Falcone, and Laura Bailey as Selina Kyle. "I do not really know what I'm allowed to tell you. I'm super excited, of course, Gal Gadot is super talented, Patty Jenkins will direct, and we will shoot in traditional film," said the Star Trek star. "What excites me most is to work on a movie with a female superhero; with a woman in the lead role. I am part of a team with this intelligent, beautiful and strong woman to destroy the wicked and save humanity."

Premiere speculates that Pine will play Wonder Woman's longtime partner and love interest Steve Trevor, though this remains unconfirmed.
