Speed Dating Event for Otakus in NYC (Otaku Speed Dating)

Have you ever been on a date and wished your date didn't have to ask, "what's manga?" After going on multiple dates, it became easy for me to tell if we had chemistry or not within the first few minutes. Good chemistry dates were great, but rare. I had to find excuses to leave many dates after multiple bouts of awkward silences or being mocked when I mentioned my favorite romantic anime fanfiction. Otaku Speed Dating organizes speed dating events specifically curated to otaku, gamers, and geeks looking for love in New York City. Here's a quick run-down of how it works: The event will take place July 8th. 

1.      Register online for one of our otaku speed dating events.

2.      Come to our venue and prepare to meet other otaku.

3.      We'll rotate you between your dates every 3 minutes.

4.      You'll write down which dates you want to match with.

5.      Mingle while enjoying snacks and refreshments until closing.

6.      If you matched with anyone, you'll be emailed their contact info.

Lenni Reviews: "Twisted Dreams: Dreamlands #4) by Felicitas Ivey

After the craziness of Unquiet Dreams, Keno is now a 'guest' of the wizard Kheper in the Egyptian lands and was forced to give in to the violent nature of his ancestor in order to save Mason's life and his own. As the unknown Darkness spreads through the Dreamlands, Samojirou takes Mason, Wolf, and Tholf to rescue Keno while Keno and Kheper investigate the Darkness. But will Keno want to be rescued after taking a life?

Keno's internal struggle about having to kill is the major part of his character development in this book. His ancestor was discussed in such hushed, ominous tones, Keno never wanted to be anything like him. There isn't time to dwell or escape his pain for long as he works with Kheper; who turns out to be a pretty cool magician and a man of honor - not at all as creepy as he seemed in the previous book. 

With two teams coming at the Darkness from two different directions, we get some really detailed and rich writing. You get a sense of realness to a very unreal world. But darnit, if it doesn't end on a cliffhanger! Man, do I wanna see the Dreamlands come together to beat the Darkness. I'm sure other cultures along with the Japanese and Egyptians will come into play. More of the Vikings would be cool! It would be such an epic showdown. 4.5 out of 5.

Lenni Reviews: "Uneasy Dreams: Dreamlands #3" by Felicitas Ivey

The siege on Nippon continues as the Trust has allied with the Egyptians and the lords of Nippon must band together to take back their lands. With the conflict intensifying, Mason tries to find a place under Tamazusa's protection and Keno struggles against the brutal nature of his ancestor as battle brings it seeping to the surface.

In this book, Keno and Samojiro are headed into "annoying couple" territory. This is a personal pet peeve of mine and I'm sure people won't agree with me; I have read many a series where the couple you've wanted to get together for the entire time keep sending the narrative to a screeching halt so they can bone as much as possible. This is not to say it ruins the book but I found myself skipping over their love scenes to get back to the war going on.

Other than that, I love how this book is not perfectly wrapped up for the next installment. As I received this series in a 4 book bundle (and reviewed one at a time so it didn't take forever to get these books reviewed for you guys), I was wondering if each book would have a self-contained antagonist or an overarching one. All these little threads of manipulation carry through all three books and their effects don't just disappear. Out of the three, this one is the most tense and ends with characters injured, separated, and floundering as to what to do next. The writing level and style carry through seamlessly and seeing all these different cultures in the Dreamlands is very cool! Very interesting overall. 4.5 out of 5.

Batman-The Telltale game series First look

SAN RAFAEL, Calif., June. 12th, 2016 -- Leading developer and publisher of digital entertainment, Telltale Games, with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment, today unveiled the first look at BATMAN - The Telltale Series ahead of its worldwide debut this summer.

The episodic game series will premiere digitally on home consoles, PC/Mac, and mobile devices, and will be shown to guests attending the annual E3 Gaming Expo this coming week in Los Angeles. The series will also be available on game consoles as a special 'Season Pass Disc' which will be available at retailers across North America, Latin America, and Europe later this summer, granting access to the five episode season as it becomes available for download.

Norman Reedus wants to play Ghost Rider

Hey O&G Fans, Norman Reedus wants to take his comic book acting back the big screen. While promoting his upcoming biker-themed roadtrip show Ride With Norman Reedus, The Walking Dead actor expressed an interest in playing a very on-theme Marvel hero - Ghost Rider.

“Hell yeah,” Reedus told Uproxx when they floated the idea of him taking the role of Ghost Rider. “It would be a blast. Do I get a skull face that’s on fire and all that stuff? F--- yeah. I’m down.”

Reedus has experience in adapting comic books beyond his role on The Walking Dead, having played Scud in Blade II. Meanwhile, Ghost Rider is back in control of Marvel studios after a pair of ill-fated films from Columbia Pictures starring Nicolas Cage in the title role.

DC Injustice 2 Trailer

Hey O&G fans, after a leaked picture of the poster, Dc has released a trailer for Injustice 2. NetherRealm Studios has announced a sequel to 2013's hit game Injustice: Gods Among Us titled Injustice 2. The platformer will once again feature a wide variety of DC superheroes and villains, and with this 2017 installment players will be able to personalize every character - both visiually, and in game play.

Injustice 2 is scheduled to be released in 2017 on PlayStation 4. While the original Injustice was released on several platforms, no mention was made of Injustice 2 beyond the PS release.

gumi and Bandai Namco launch “Brave Frontier” & “Tales Of Link” Collaboration

gumi Inc. and Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. are teaming up for an all-new Tales of Link collaboration in the hit mobile role-playing game Brave Frontier.

From June 6 to June 26 (PST), Brave Frontier fans will get a chance to acquire heroes from the “Tales of” series. These include Stahn (Tales of Destiny), Rutee (Tales of Destiny), Rita (Tales of Vesperia), Arche (Tales of Phantasia), Cress (Tales of Phantasia), and Milla (Tales of Xillia series). Anime distributor Right Stuf, Inc. and anime producer Sunrise Inc. announced the upcoming releases of Gundam Build Fighters Try and Mobile Suit Gundam Char’s Counterattack. Gundam Build Fighters and Mobile Suit Gundam Char’s Counterattack will be available on Blu-ray and DVD September 6, 2016.

Seven years have passed since Sei Iori won the 7th Gunpla Battle Championship World Tournament. The Gunpla Battle Championship is now run by Yajima Trading. With new rules and battle modes, the game's popularity has become even more widespread.
