Vandal Savage revealed as DC's Legends of Tomorrows first Major Bad Guy and first look at Legends of tomorrow Trailer

Hey O&G fans, today the official story line for CW's Legends of Tomorrow has been released, and along with confirming that time-traveler Rip Hunter assembles the team of heroes. There is an immortal Threat coming. And now we know who that immortal threat is: Vandal Savage.

Thursday morning at the CW's Upfronts presentation, the network reportedly revealed Savage will be the series first "antagonist," fitting the bill as the "immortal threat"

Vandal Savage (a Justic League and Justice Society villain) was born a caveman in prehistoric times but granted immortality by a strange meteor that fell from the sky. In addition to immortality, it also worked to evolve his mind and body beyond his cro-magnon origins to be ahead of his time, both then and into the present day and sometimes in the future.

There's no word yet on who is cast to play Vandal Savage in DC's Legends of Tomorrow. DC's Legends of Tomorrow is scheduled to premiere in early 2016 on the CW. Here is a look at the trailer:
 

Jem & The Holograms Trailer and Reaction

Yesterday Jem & The Holograms trailer was released. A small-town girl catapults from underground video sensation to global superstar, she and her three sisters begin a one-in-a-million journey of discovering that some talents are too special to keep hidden. In Universal Pictures’ Emotional and the Holograms, four aspiring musicians will take the world by storm when they see that the key to creating your own destiny lies in finding your own voice.

Reaction: Okay I didn't watch Jem as child on Saturday mornings on CBS. Frankly I was watching Turtles. However I did recently binged watch it on Netflix. I was actually surprised how good the show was. What I like about the show is it had strong female characters. This is something you usually didn't see in the 80's cartoon world. After binged watching the series I see why so many women of that era love Jem. It was a fun show, with positive female characters and each girl were flawed to a degree but overcame adversity. 

The trailer didn't capture anything about the cartoon. Jem doesn't seem to have a musical family background. There is no sign of the Misfits. The trailer feels like a dark coming of age story, instead of a fun coming of the age story. Where is magic, glitter, fashion and fame? The music doesn't give me a contiguous feel. I'm not a huge Jem fan but the only thing shown right was Synergy. However this just the first trailer. I won't judge the film till its released.

In June, Marvel's themed variant covers is based on Gwen Stacy. With the renewed popoularity in the character thanks to Spider-Gwen, Marvel is doing variant covers to 20 different Marvel titles in June.
 

Women of Anime: Maka

Never judge a book by its cover. 

Today's woman of anime is Maka from the anime Soul Eater. Maka is a strong-willed girl who would be a great friend and confidant. She is a hard worker at the Academy for meisters and weapons and even more, she cares for her friends and her partner Soul. For those who don't know what Soul Eater is, allow me to explain.  

 Soul Eater  tells the story of three main meisters and some other students (but mostly our three) main teams. Team one has the duo of Soul  the death scythe, and his meister Maka. Next we have Black Star with his ninja weapon Tsubaki, and lastly we have Death the Kid with his twin guns Liz and Patty (my favorite team besides Maka and Soul). These three teams along with others are at the DWMA learning how to be great meisters while fighting evil such as witches and other supernatural entities. They also need to collect 99 souls and one witch soul in order for their weapon to be the ultimate weapon episodes of action, comedy, suspense and drama, Soul Eater  is not a show to sleep over. 

Cosplay Girl of the Week #120 (Amanda from Saw)

This week's Cosplay Girl we get a little brutal. I love the first three Saw movies and one of my favorite characters is Amanda. Naturally when I saw this pic the good folks at BeatDownBoggie took there was no way I wouldn't feature it. The cosplayer name is Randi Clemens. Great job Randi on capturing the fear of the bear trap.

GOD EATER ANIME PV UNVEILED

MH-esque top-heavy action game God Eater has just unveiled a PV for its soon-to-arrive anime, bearing its unique visual style coupled with plenty of intense combat sequences, sure to appease fans of the franchise if not lovers of fight scenes in general.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (and the kitchen sink) Will be in Capt. America: Civil War

Hey O&G fans, it seems Marvel is gearing up to throw every MCU character at you in Capt. America: Civil War. This might be the most comic book character loaded movie to date. Civil War will have atleast up to 16 Marvel character, its almost the whole cinematic universe ( But if they are following the comic book story, Thor and the Hulk won't be in it). Here is the film synopsis:

“Captain America: Civil War” picks up where “Avengers: Age of Ultron” left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.

It will be great if the movie has characters from all past, present, Future and films. After his debut in Marvel’s “Ant-Man” on July 17, 2015, Paul Rudd will make his first appearance alongside the Avengers as Scott Lang/Ant-Man. Other characters to appear, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark / Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Steve Rogers / Captain America, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton / Hawkeye, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Don Cheadle as James Rhodes / War Machine, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Jarvis / Vision, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson / Falcon, Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa/Black Panther, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter/Agent 13, Daniel Brühl as Brock Rumlow/Crossbones, William Hurt as General Thaddeus Ross, Martin Freeman as (Unknown Character).

We will see if the movie follows the comic book story arch, if so we might see other Marvel characters appear like the Punisher, Spiderman, Luke cage, and Daredevil. It is also possible some Villains and minor heroes could make cameo's to make the movie more bad ass than it's already shaping up to be.

Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” is produced by Marvel Studios’ president, Kevin Feige, with Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Victoria Alonso, Patricia Whitcher, Nate Moore and Stan Lee serving as executive producers. Marvel Studios has commenced principal photography at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta, Georgia on “Captain America: Civil War,” the third installment of its Super Hero franchise. The production will shoot on location in Atlanta, Georgia, which serves as the base for the film’s production, as well as locations in Germany, Puerto Rico and Iceland.

Captain America: Civil War is set to premiere May 6th 2016.
