Hey O&G Fans, New York Comic Con 2015 had some great panels this year. One of the most anticipated panels was Ash vs Evil Dead. Kevin Smith moderated the panel and kept the crowd entertained till the show stopper himself Bruce Campbell was ready.

Bruce Campbell came out to thunderous applauds and started to tell the fans a Joke when Sam Raimi interrupted him to give the fans what they want. Attendees were surprised with a premiere of the first episode of Ash vs Evil Dead. The episode was fantastic!  Fans of the Evil Dead series will love the nods to past events and moments, as Ash (Campbell) returns, older, but hardly wiser. His age is not only acknowledged but a big source of humor, as he’s not quite as fit as he once was.

The episode also had all the blood and gore. In classic Evil Dead style, there’s all sorts of body parts being torn off and apart and blood splattering in the faces of various characters. During the Q&A the question was asked whether the show would return to the iconic cabin from the films. Said Campbell, “We can’t answer that question.” Smith retorted with, “That’s a yes, isn’t it?” to which Campbell had to admit, it probably was. Fans asked what else could they expect in future episodes and if it would get even more gory, show runner DiGregorio said “There’s a really good deli slicer scene.”

The Panel was awesome and great for the fans of the franchise. Ash vs Evil Dead will air October 31st 2015 on Starz. Just what fans needed on Halloween.

NYCC: Evil Dead Panel

Evil Dead Remake Panel

Hey Otakus and Geeks fans, Sean (The True Comic Fan) and I got a chance at this years Comic Con to attend the Evil Dead panel. Now I was only six when the original Sam Raimi film was first released, but a friend introduced me to it in my teens and I was hooked ever since.

Panel:
The Evil Dead panel was F*%#king Awesome!!! I mean I wanted to grab my Boom Stick and go fight some demons myself. The remake will be released on April 12, 2013 and stars Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Lou Taylor Pucci, Jessica Lucas and Elizabeth Blackmore.

In the Evil Dead remake the story centers on five twenty-something friends holed up in a remote cabin where they discover a Book Of The Dead and unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.

In the beginning of the panel we were given a teaser picture (shown below from entertainment weekly) myself and fans thought this would be the only glimpse of the film we would get……..but wait……like opening that present you’ve been waiting for on Christmas, they gave us an exclusive look at the trailer. I can’t begin to describe how great the movie looks. The scenes are defiantly an upgrade from the original. All I’m really going to say is when the trailer drops, this will be the movie you’ll want to see.

Bruce Campbell was funny, charismatic and he kept everyone who attend the panel entertained the entire time. Producer Campbell added, "As middle-aged filmmakers now, we realized maybe it's just too late to strap on that chainsaw one more time." He went on, "The point is, it's time to give these people what they want - a new experience done with handsome young thespians covered in new buckets of blood, from a new director hand-picked by Sam Raimi himself."
