Anime That Jazz Vol 1 and 2 Review

What happens when you combine some the best and favorable anime themes and mix it with Jazz music? You get two solid albums that is love letter to otakus who are fans of the genre of Jazz music. Volume which is richly entitled "Evening" kicks things off with Neon Genesis main theme Cruel Angel Thesis. The rendition is wonderful mixing a smooth piano, and light use of the drums really is a great start to the album. Throughout the entire album the piano takes center stage. The piano is used as the main instrument for the first album giving smooth renditions to favorite anime themes such as, Lupin The 3rd, Galaxy Express 999, Kiki's Delivery Service, Slam Dunk, Dragonball and more. If you're of fan piano composition with drums this album is for you. The first album doesn't really have the use of horns or strings. However if that is what your looking for the second album Vol 2 is for you.

The second album is my favorite out of the two. The production is more better when it comes to themes. The piano is still on the center stage, but the addition of horns and strings sweetness the overall product. I actually think the track selection is way better on this album. Shows like Yu Yu Hakusho, Cowboy Bebop, Dragonball Z, Sailor Moon, Eureka Seven and many more are featured. The second album not only renditions your favorite songs but also adds to it. One this album artist give more an interpretation of the theme rather than a cover. It's a great feel and is easy to listen too. Stand out trackers are Yu Yu Hakusho Opening Theme, Eureka Seven, Cowboy Bebop and Fly Me To The Moon. If you are a fan of anime and Jazz this import you should check out.
