Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers Episode 1 Review

Legend says, when the Evil God awakens from the deepest of darkness, the god of fate will summon Six Braves and grant them with the power to save the world. Adlet, who claims to be the strongest on the face of this earth, is chosen as one of the “Brave Six Flowers,” and sets out on a battle to prevent the resurrection of the Evil God. However, it turns out that there are Seven Braves who gathered at the promised land.

Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers is one hell of a fun show. Episode 1 focuses on two of the six Braves chosen to save the world. Princess Nashetania and Adlet Mayer the self proclaimed strongest man in the world. Adlet Mayer gets most of the screen time in this episode. The episode does a great job of establishing the world and the upcoming arc for Adlet and Nashetania. Adlet is a very confident teenager, who has been trained for one purpose and that is to slay the demon god. Adlet is very entertaining, he is overconfident at times but he backs up everything that he boast about. I like this character mainly because he is overconfident, even when he is beaten. It seems that nothing really gets him down, even after being locked up for life for ruining a holy tradition. Adlet wants to fulfill his training and his destiny to being chosen by the god of fate, and will do anything to prove himself. The other character Princess Nashetania I can see many cosplayers will be playing her as the show goes on. She is a sweet, strong but very precise character. Much is not known about her in this episode, but I can tell she might be one of the standout female characters this year. Her chemistry with Adlet is wonderful and they play off each other very thanks to the amazing voice acting.

The episode gives you a great backstory on his character, which I will not spoil. His backstory is noble and I feel that audiences will root for him. Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers does a great job of setting up a fantasy world. The production on this show is great from the animation and the music is so good. Hearing the soundtrack will probably make Joe Hiasashi smile. The use of strings and drums really bring a epic fantasy feel that you see in RPG games. Solid story, nice introduction to the world, great music and amazing action sequences. This show is off to a great start.
