My Rise To Wrestling Royalty By Booker T (Book Review)

Booker T: My Rise to Wrestling Royalty chronicles two turbulent and hard-hitting decades with Booker T as he journeyed through World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). During this time Booker T blazed a trail of pro wrestling success on a road that took him from his tag team days in Harlem Heat, to his unparalleled singles career that drew millions around the world to WCW’s Monday Nitro, and onward through his unforgettable matches that led to him taking the throne as King Booker and becoming the FIVE-TIME, FIVE-TIME, FIVE-TIME, FIVE-TIME, FIVE-TIME (and eventually six-time) . . . World Heavyweight Champion.

If you enjoy Booker T's first book "From Prison to Promise" then you will truly enjoy his new book. "My Rise To Wrestling Royalty" picks off where the previous book left off. Booker T begins to talk about his beginning of his wrestling career. Booker's T journey is a testament of hardwork and dedication. Reading the book I found out information  on Booker that I never knew. For example  Booker's T first wrestling gimmick at WCW was let's say very offensive to the audiences. I won't spoil it but when reading you will be shock. One thing Booker T does well in his book compare to other wrestling books is that he doesn't shoot. Booker T doesn't throw any performer under the bus, or talk negative about the business. Instead he focuses on his accomplishments and the challenges of being a wrestler. He effortlessly show the readers the life of a wrestler, from traveling the road, contract negotiations and the effect it has on your marriage. One of the highlights of the book is reading about the Monday Night Wars from Booker's perspective. As one of the premiere WCW stars Booker recounts his experience during that era. It's very insightful and Booker gives you brand new insight on that era from the WCW standpoint. Overall if you want a good look into Booker's T career and the business pick it up. It's a must read for wrestling fans.
