WE ARE Perfume is a touching, fun and eye opening documentary following the three band members as they tour the world. I have seen many band documentaries where the film focuses on the music, performance of the concert and build up. This documentary has all of those elements but watching this one made me an instant fan of the group. One thing I really enjoyed is showing the girls personality. This documentary really gives you some insight on the band members. Kashiyuka, a-chan and NOCCHI all bring some element that makes the group amazing. Kashiyuka is describe of being the balance of the girls while a-chan and NOCCHI are more on the serious side. This film really shows what's it like to be Perfume. We see how Perfume gets nervous before a major American show. I love the New York section of the film. They were really nervous and wanted to make sure they hit the mark in New York. I think the biggest thing I like about this documentary is the exploration of different cultures. The band where in L.A. having a Cheeseburger at In and Out and it was a big deal to them. The site seeing, reaction of how their music has impacted fans was some of the highlights of the film. The ending is a tearjerker has each girl gives her thanks to the people who made it possible. The addition of orchestrated music in that scene had the audience in theater with tears in there eye. Overall this is a good documentary showcasing one of the stand out idol bands in Japan. It shows the fruits of hard work and dedication and the power of how music can touch so many people.
