Reynard City

Do you like Foxes? Do you like action? Do you like Foxes that kick a lot of ass? Check out Reynard City. Reynard City is a web comic series you should check out. What is the story about? Here is the official description below from the site.

"The story begins on the planet Animal Kingdom, as the last surviving animals prepare to fight Mega Fox and his robot army. Leading the way is Vibes, a headstrong psychic. However, the mysterious Chief wants her for a top secret mission…"

The characters are interesting. I like the concept of an Animal war. Some characters to look out for is the antagonist "Mega Fox." Mega Fox is a villain who I would call "Power Driven." It's his ways or the highway. He has the ability to transform into various vehicles such as, Tank, Jet and even a Mecha. I like his back-story and he brings a real threat to the other characters. Another great character is AK Girl (Vibes) she is a psychic with a mouth. She is a very tough girl. Being a smart-ass myself I like to see characters who are not afraid to tell it like it is. I also like the fact she can't fully control her powers. As powerful as she is, she gets into a lot of trouble, and has to find herself out of a situation. Give it shot you will be wrapped into this struggle for freedom, responsibility, humility and power plus it has Foxes :).

The story and characters are well done. The webcomic is free to read at their site Reynard City and you can also follow them on Reynard City Twitter Also like them on Facebook Reynard City Facebook.

Here is a video of Reynard City crew talking about a TV Pilot for the comic.

A Toast To Old School Anime

Otakus raise your glasses in the air. We will like to present a toast to the old school. A toast for the animators who didn't use computer generated images. Instead they had to animate the film by hand and shoot frame by frame. A toast to the legends Osamu Tezuka, Katsuhiro Otomo, Mamoru Oshii, Hayao Miyazaki, Yoshiyuki Tomino, Tatsuo Yoshida & many more. These men and women have brought us characters, stories and moments that will forever stand the test of time. A toast to the big eyed Anime girls and boys. We still love to see characters drawn this way. A toast to some of the most amazing fight scenes ever put on film, from Dragonball Z, M.D. Geist, Ninja Scroll, Fist Of The North Star just to name a few. A toast to the storytellers who proved that animation can be more than just a medium for children. A toast to the pioneers who prove that animation can have mature content. A toast to the days of originality. These where the times when creativity was flowing and stories were original as possible. A toast to that first Mech that made you want to be a pilot or travel into space. A toast for the hidden themes in every old school Anime that made you think.

A toast to the old school voice actors. Some performances were truly amazing and some not so much, but we love it anyway. A toast to the cheesy dialogue that made us laugh and cringe at the same time. A toast to the old school Anime that took a risk by including fan service and a little Hentai action. A toast for creating strong female characters and showing us that it's not an all boys show. A toast to the composers who put their heart, soul and musical talents to make Anime feel like it wasn't an Anime. A toast to artist who made every environment feel like we're watching a painting come to life. A toast to the classic J-Pop/ J-Rock songs that are still in our playlist today. A toast the companies Studio Ghilbi, Manga Entertainment, Tatsunoko and many more for delivering some of the best Anime ever. A toast to characters like Lupin The 3rd, Goku, Rick Hunter, Astro Boy, Serena Tsukino, Kenshiro and so many more. These adventures made us laugh, cry and made us into Otakus. A final toast to the legends who have pass on, and a toast to the New School who will show us new ways to enjoy Anime.

Summer Wars Review

One of the most beloved, anticipated Anime of 2010 to early 2011 was finally released on DVD/Blu Ray. Summer Wars follows Kenji Koiso, an eleventh grade math genius, agrees to take a summer job at the Nagano hometown of his crush, Natuski. When he arrives, he finds that her family have reunited to celebrate the 90th birthday of the family matriarch. His job is to pretend to be Natsuki's fiancé. Meanwhile, his attempt to solve a mathematical equation causes a parallel world's collision with earth. Is it worth watching? Check out the review.

Thor Review

The summer season of Superhero movies is finally here. This year we have a bunch of new and familiar heroes gracing the big screen. The first one up to bat for the summer is Thor. Thor stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston, and Idris Elba. Does the God of thunder make an impact? Or does the lighting bolt miss it mark.

Story - The powerful but arrogant warrior Thor is cast out of the fantastic realm of Asgard and sent to live amongst humans on Earth, where he soon becomes one of their finest defenders.

That's the synopsis for the film. The story is well told. The story will grab you from beginning to end, because of how well the characters are written. Thor is what you would called a spoil prince. He is arrogant and believes since he is the future king things should be handed to him. What follows is his banishment from his home Asgard. Thor is stripped from his powers and sent to Earth (Midgar) to live his life as a mortal. What keeps the story of Thor interesting is the theme of humility. The fact that a God has to learn how to be humble is enough to keep you going. The characters work well with this universe. It's written in a way that this type of story can be believable for today's time. The pacing works well as we start off with Thor getting ready to become King, then his banishment and how he will have to learn his lesson, then finally to the final chapter. Some fans will be disappointed with the lack of action, and dead scenes of Thor. However if you allow yourself to be invested in the story, you'll see that Thor is learning humanity and why we humans do what we do. The main characters such as Thor, Odin, Loki characterization works well. However the villains back story, especially the big metal guy could have been developed more. Finally if you are worried that Thor suffers from the over the top promotion of the upcoming "The Avengers" movie like Iron Man. Please have no fear. Thor is it's own movie. However Shield's presence is there, but it's not overshadowing the movie of Thor.

Acting - The acting in Thor is great. Chris Hemsworth is magnificent. He really put his heart into Thor, from his mannerism, his way of speech, to fighting style. Anthony Hopkins as Odin was wonderful as well. Truthfully I didn't know it was him, until I read the credits. I was really invested into the story to tell. Tom Hiddleston I really did enjoy as Loki. He brings that sympatheic character that you will understand his decisions. There is this one scene with Hopkins as they discuss Thor's banishment, where we really see the true Loki and you feel for him. The Oscar winning actress Natalie Portman was okay. I didn't really see much range in her role, but the script really didn't give her too much to do but be the love interest. Overall the acting was wonderful and everyone shines.

Music & Filmmaking - The opening composition really sets that Godly tone. There is something about a choir and strings that makes a scene feel more epic. The music is composed very well by Patrick Doyle. Strings, piano and choir use in certain scenes makes you feel part of the action. The scenery in the movie is beautiful! The shots of Asgard are done with such detail that I wish more scenes were film in this place. Other locations we're okay, most of the film was shot in New Mexico. The location won't wow you like other Superhero films, but what better place to humble a God then a place where he will have to humble. The action scenes were entertaining, but pretty basic. A swing of the hammer there, a little thunder there and the final fight was a let down. We really didn't get to see the God of thunder go full power. Here is hoping for more Thor in the future.

Final Grade B+/8.5 - Thor is entertaining, plays it safe so that the whole family can see it. The theme of humility and power works great with the character. The story pacing is good, however in his banishment some hardcore fans will be bored. The action is good, but could of been better if he had tougher enemies. What really makes this movie is the acting, the music, the visuals and theme of the story. I say check it out and give the God of thunder a shot.

Ten Star Wars Games You Must Play

Happy Star Wars Day! Today we geeks we're blessed with the story told from a galaxy far, far away. That galaxy has spawn many videogames over the years. However here are ten must play games from Star Wars. This list is in no particular order. Leave your favorite Star Wars games in the comment section.

1. Star Wars- Shadows Of The Empire: Why Shadow Of The Empire? This game has epic written all over it. Not only was this one of the great games of N64, but it had a nice storyline behind it. You played as Dash Render a mercenary who aids Luke to save Princess Leia.

2. Jedi Knight II Jedi Outcast: Probably every Star Wars fan favorite game when it comes to Jedi's. Jedi Outcast not only had amazing lightsaber battles, it nearly perfected it. A wonderful story about a man's redemption back into the light. Also Billy Dee Williams returns in this. Great addition to what happens after Return Of The Jedi.

3. Super Star Wars Trilogy: If you had a Super Nintendo and didn't play Super Star Wars, then we have no comment for you. This game was a nice action side scroller that not only tested the limits of the SNES, but showed it's flight battles were awesome. Don't believe us play the Death Star stage.

4. Star Wars - Battlefront II: Battlefront II was addictive. This game not only had you controlling the Stormtroppers, using vehicles, but you get to play as various Sith and Jedi as well.

5. Star Wars - Rogue Squadron 2: If Star Wars had a flawless victory this game close to it. Rogue Squadron 2 had one of the most comfortable controls for a Star Wars flight game. The first stage with the attack of the Death Star is still a jaw dropper.

6. Star Wars - Knights Of The Old Republic: Star Wars and RPG? Yeah it worked in ways we couldn't even imagine. The players were able to create their own character. Taking them onto a journey, where they might join either the Jedi Or Sith based on their decisions was enough to make any Star Wars fan jizz.

7. Star Wars - The Force Unleashed: Darth Vader had an secret apprentice? Yup in this official cannon to what happens between episode III and IV. The story was interesting enough, the heart and love was there. The gameplay was so, so but you need to experience just how powerful the force can be.

8. Star Wars Trilogy Arcade: Countless quarters fell at the hands of this Arcade game. We never really got far in this game, because it's very challenging. However the game is one of the most fun Star Wars game we played.

9. Lego Star Wars Trilogy: Star Wars meets Lego's how can you not want to experience this? This game was funny, cute and still capture the heart of Star Wars.

10. Star Wars Podracer: The N64 version was so, so. However the Arcade version was badass! Sitting in an actual simulator of a Podracer is something we won't forget.

New York International Autoshow 2011

I took a trip to the "New York International Autoshow." I'm not a huge car geek, but I must say after this show I' am on the road to become one. A lot of things were shown at the Autoshow. What really was impressive was the electric cars and how smoothly they run, these babies might be the answer to high gas prices. I even saw rapper Jadakiss signing autographs. It was a great time with models, music and cars what more can a guy ask for. Here are some pics and clips of what I saw at the Autoshow.

Me in this nice car. I love it.
