News: Axis Teaser

Uncanny Avengers had the most blatant tease inside the pages of Marvel Comics for the upcoming AXIS event, with Alex “Havok” Summers permanently “disfigured,” and the Red Skull launching his campaign, putting his “S-Men” to work.

Yesterday AXIS #1 teaser from Marvel is clearly following up on that. It’s the Red Skull and the sentence, “You’ll welcome this cleansing, Alex.” It seems Red Skull has plans directly in place for Havok, and will be targeting him in particular. With rumors that the Inversion in act two of AXIS will affect the younger Summers, it sure seems like they could be true.

5 Opponents That Brock Lesnar Should Face

OK, so after Summerslam, everyone is thinking the same thing, who can face Brock and look legitimate. After all, he destroyed the top guy in the company so how can anyone else stand a chance. I think I found 5 guys that can get it done.

1. Roman Reigns

Ok, so he is the most obvious choice. He has the size and power. His move set is ever increasing. But everyone says he's not ready yet because he's too green. BUT....keep this in mind. He has the crowd behind him like nobody else on the active roster right now, I mean he's over like rover. The most important thing about him though is he is the most believable to dethrone the beast. But this wont happen until Wrestlemania 31, my sources assure me of this.

2. Daniel Bryan

Why not? Its never happened before so the first time they square off is box office numbers. It has the potential to be quite a lengthy feud. By judging both on their in-ring work, it would be very much similar to Brock vs. Punk at last year's Summerslam, which was brilliant booking. You know D Bry will have to be in the main event seen once he returns because he never actually lost the title. With the latest reports having him rumored to maybe be back by Survivor Series, sounds like a good story to extend all the way to Royal Rumble.

3. Cesaro

So I did a previous article on creative wanting to do this over the summer. Obviously, plans fell apart as Paul Heyman was set to be the centerpiece. But a lot has changed since now and Money In The Bank PPV. Brock is now champ and Cesaro was on a serious losing streak. He has since won a couple in a row so things might be turning around again. Also, recently John Cena put him over for his personality on the Summerslam superstar panel. Any endorsement from Cena usually means something good might be in store (ex. Zack Ryder, Daniel Bryan), even if it is short lived.

4. Sheamus

Here is an interesting one. He has the US championship as if its just a place holder until they can find something better for him to do. He is a former champ so a return to the top of the card isn't far fetched. He has the support of Triple H. His look is impressive enough to compete with Brock and the fans can definitely buy him as a legitimate threat to Lesnar's title. His in-ring work is solid and he can go with the best of them. The only problem is I could see the crowd turning on him as they do with Cena because they have been flip flopping the Sheamus character over the past couple months its tough to get a read on where he's going.

5. Batista

So lets throw something out there. Batista has wanted to matchup with Brock on the big stage since they were both called up. Speaking of which, that would be a great story to  lead with as he can say he was the lead dog in that developmental class. Batista, fresh off his return from Hollywood, we know h'es still under contract, can come in with a chip on his shoulder portraying himself as a real life Drax The Destroyer and demand a shot as Lesnar as no one can take him. Batista left wanting a title shot and now Triple H can grant him one.

There are other notable names I can conceive but I think these are the most legitimate 5 after Cena. I would love to hear what other think.

After helping launch Batman Eternal, artist Jason Fabok is joining Geoff Johns for a run on Justice League. Starting with Justice League #36, as announced on Buzzfeed, Fabok will be the regular ongoing artist, replacing Ivan Reis and Joe Prado.

”How about getting a call from Geoff Johns at 12’oclock midnight and having him offer you the art duties on Justice League? I was so blown away I don’t think I slept all week,” the artist told Buzzfeed. “Geoff has been such a huge inspiration to me over the years reading his work and watching him weave these grand epics through the DC universe. In fact, one of my career goals was to get a chance to work with him on a project. To have the opportunity to draw the next chapter in his Justice League saga is an extreme joy and overwhelming to consider.”
Fabok didn’t give much hint as to what the storyline he’s drawing will be, only saying, “It’s going to get epic!”

Here is the original solicitation copy for Justice League #36:

“THE AMAZO VIRUS” continues! A bizarre disease has been unleashed, America has been quarantined and the whole world is at a stand still – but no one on the League may be more affected by this than Batman! What deadly secret about the League does the Amazo Virus hold? Where did it come from? Who unleashed it and why? And what does it mean for the future of the world’s greatest heroes?

News: Rila Fukushima will be New KATANA in ARROW

Arrow is Changing Katana this season. As one of Oliver Queen’s possible trainers and allies, Tatsu “Katana” Yamashiro has a new actress. Devon Aoki is out due to an ambiguous “scheduling conflict,” and Rila Fukushima is in.

Many may  remember Fukushima from 2013’s The Wolverine, where she played another brash lone warrior’s ally. As Yukio she wielded, appropriately enough, a deadly katana, and in her first scene showed off her skills with her sword named “Separator.”

New AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Set Pic Shows Off HAWKEYE's New Outfit

Official Age Of Ultron Production Still         Image Credit: Marvel Studios

It's not the classic kilt, or skirt, or whatever it was comic book Hawkeye used to wear in his more costumey days, but Jeremy Renner's new souped-up uniform for May's Avengers: Age of Ultron is a decent real-world facsimile.

Here's a new official image from the set of the production (which has completed principle photography) featuring writer/director/producer Joss Whedon apparently showing Renner what you're suppose to look like when shooting a bow and arrow. It also features a good new hi-res look at Hawkeye's new duds.

News: Edge Of Spider-Verse #3 First Look

Today we have a first look at Marvel Comics Edge Of Spider #3.  Written, drawn, and colored by Dustin Weaver (INFINITY, Avengers), the issue introduces readers to a brand new Spider-Man, Dr. Aaron Aikman.

“Unlike Peter, he chose to be Spider-Man,” says Weaver of his new creation, in an interview with Marvel.com. “He did it himself, to become a hero for his city. I guess that says a lot about the character of my Spider-Man. He’s got a big ego and being good at being Spider-Man is a point of pride. He doesn’t struggle with responsibility. He enjoys it. Other than his origin being different, he also has a completely different cast of supporting characters and villains.”
As Aikman dons the helmet of his Spider-Man suit composed of bleeding-edge technology, he confronts the evil that plagues his New York City. As the villainous Red Eye and Naahmurah wreak havoc on his world, only Spider-Man stands capable of saving the day! But is he prepared for the onslaught of Spider-Verse and the coming of Morlun?

Edge of Spider-Verse #3 goes on sale this September.

F

irst Look:

From Beneath is due to be release sometime by the end of this year, but our first look and play of the demo..... It's pretty Awesome. It definitely keeps true to survival horror games and reminds me of games like Fatal Frame, Alone in the Dark, and Clock Tower. Each character in the game is unique and has their own unique skills to get them through the game. One thing I like about this game is when you encounter monsters and they spot you, it causes you to go into a state of fear that slows you down or you have an emotional response like crying. The graphics are really good for a mobile game. The environments look sharp and clear. I can't wait till it's released and we will keep you updated on the date.

ROBIN RISES Resurrection Theme and that HELLSUIT

Hey Otakus and Geeks fans, As the Robin Rises story continue in Batman and Robin, more clues and themes are starting to emerge. Written by Peter Tomasi with art by Pat Gleason, Batman and Robin kicked off the new storyline in July, promising to bring "back" a Robin for Batman.

Now readers have learned that the story is not only depicting Bruce Wayne's mission to resurrect his deceased son Damian, but also to "resurrect" the Bat-family after it was figuratively destroyed during "Death of the Family." In last week's Batman and Robin #34, readers saw a reconciliation of sorts between Bruce and former Robins Jason, Dick and Tim, as well as current Batgirl, Barbara Gordon.
Although the story still focuses on returning Damian from the dead, the focus on the other Bat-characters (and the family-focused cover now revealed for November's Batman and Robin #36), could Tomasi and Gleason be positioning one of the former Robins to come "back" into the job?
As the story takes a break until October — for the unrelated Futures End issue.

Ninja Slayer “Upcoming Anime”

During last month Anime Expo 2014 held in Los Angeles, California from July 3-6 it was revealed that Studio Trigger will adapt the Ninja Slayer novel series to anime.  Director Akira Amemiya (Inferno Cop) will direct the studio's upcoming animation. Amemiya also served as an episode director for Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, Kill la Kill, and Black Rock Shooter. He also directed the Gurren Lagann Parallel Works video anime.

The "cyberpunk ninja action drama" is set in the near-future city of Neo Saitama, where ninja souls have been unleashed. The story follows Fujikido Kenji, a salaryman whose wife and children were killed in a ninja battle. He is then possessed by a ninja soul and becomes a ninja slayer, devoted to killing all ninja to avenge his family.

The story was originally posted piecemeal on Twitter by Japanese "translators" Honda Yu and Sugi Leika, allegedly translating the work of American authors "Bradley Bond and Philip Ninj@ Morzez." After the story grew in popularity, Enterbrain published the first Japanese-translated volume in print, Ninja Slayer: Neo Saitama in Flames, in September 2012. The story then inspired three comic adaptations from Enterbrain and Kodansha, as well as an audio drama with Toshiyuki Morikawa as the title character.

Tokyo Otaku Mode released the first two novels online in English. The company also released the manga version online in English. Read them here and check the Ninja Slayer Novel’s English-Dubbed Trailer below.

Hey Otakus and Geeks Fans, Today we have some news from Marvel Animation. Donald Glover
( Star of NBCs Community ) will be the voice of Miles Morales in Disney XD Ultimate Spider-Man  Web Warriors. It all happens in the new season premiere of Web Warriors, airing this Sunday on Disney XD. From USA Today:

The cartoon Miles is very close to the comic-book version: The 13-year-old is still getting used to being a superhero when he meets the dimension-hopping Peter (Drake Bell), who's trying to stop his old nemesis the Green Goblin from collecting the DNA of various Spider-Men — from Spider-Man Noir to the porcine hero Spider-Ham— for nefarious reasons.

Glover told USA Today, ”I don’t think it’s hit me necessarily yet how big of a deal that is, I admire anybody who allows themselves to be themselves. Especially a kid.”

News: Meet Morrison's Multiversity Marvel World

Meet the Marvel Universe, as seen in the DC Universe.

While the full Multiversity guide won't be out until the full appendix sees print, DC Comics is slowly rolling out individual worlds on DCComics.com. One of the first to get featured? Earth-8, which carries analogues of Marvel characters like the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, and more. Check out the official description here:

For generations, life on Earth-8 passed like it does on our world. Largely uneventful, and when problems did arise, they were handled easily by the world’s large population of super heroes. Until a day finally arrived like no other, and Earth-8’s strongest heroes were forced to unite against a common threat. The Retaliators were born! Not quite what you were expecting? Perhaps that’s the best way to describe this world, populated with heroes such as the patriotic power soldier known as American Crusader, the lightning-charged warrior god Wundajin, the massively-morphing, quick to anger monster known as the Behemoth and the scientifically-minded, elementally-powered foursome known as the Future Family. Alongside such figures as Machinehead, Ladybug, Stuntmaster and the “neo-human” heroes of the G-Men, they keep their world safe from threats like the destructive Lord Havok and the Extremists.
