In BLACK ROSE ALICE, Dimitri Lewandowski is a celebrated tenor in early 1900s Vienna. When he is killed in an accident, his corpse is colonized by the seeds of a vampire master. At first, Dimitri denies that anything has changed, but as the people around him start dying, he is forced to accept the ghastly truth.
BLACK ROSE ALICE is a dark supernatural romance with a suspenseful storyline that puts its own unique twist on the vampire genre,” says Pancha Diaz, Editor. “After a prologue set in a beautifully rendered 1900s Vienna, the series flashes forward to modern Japan where Dimitri, who has become a fully developed vampire, appears in the dreams of a heartbroken woman to present a sinister proposal – he will save her fatally injured love, for a terrible price!”

Setona Mizushiro’s professional debut, Fuyu ga, Owarou Toshiteita (Winter Was Ending), won the 1993 Shogakukan Manga New Author Award. English dubbed 2.0 audio is available as well as the original Japanese dialogue track with English subtitles.

Yuki Cross can’t remember anything earlier than the day ten years ago when she was saved from a vampire attack by Pureblood vampire Kaname Kuran. Now Yuki, along with her partner, Zero, is a Guardian at Cross Academy, where two groups of students, the Day Class and the Night Class, coexist in relative harmony, despite the fact that the Night Class students are all vampires! But their peaceful existence is threatened when Yuki’s memories of a bloodstained past begin to emerge, and a dark shadow of evil looms ever closer!
“Audiences can return to the ominous Cross Academy and savor the gothic romance and bloodlust, dark characters, and beautiful artwork that have made the VAMPIRE KNIGHT series such a hit among anime fans,” says Charlene Ingram, Senior Manager Animation Marketing. “For the first time, both seasons of VAMPIRE KNIGHT are available in a single complete DVD box set. For anyone that has yet to see this acclaimed series, the new release is also an ideal way to catch it in its entirety.”
VAMPIRE KNIGHT and VAMPIRE KNIGHT GUILTY are based on the best-selling manga series created by Matsuri Hino (rated ‘T+’ for Older Teens; published in North America in-print and digitally by VIZ Media), who burst onto the scene in Japan with her debut title, Kono Yume ga Sametara (When This Dream Is Over) in LaLa DX magazine. With the success of subsequent series such as CAPTIVE HEARTS and MERU PURI (both also published domestically by VIZ Media), Hino has become a major force in the world of shojo manga.
Also don’t miss the VAMPIRE KNIGHT FANBOOK and THE ART OF VAMPIRE KNIGHT, both available from VIZ Media.

Attack on Titan Live-Action Film Confirmed

A couple of months ago the official Attack on Titan website announced that there will be two live-action film adaptation based on Hajime Isayama's popular manga to be release for 2015 premier.  Storyboard artist and Tokusatsu effects movie guru  Shinji Higuchi (Neon Genesis Evangelion) will direct the adaptation which will begin filming this year. Last week the director confirmed that the project will span two films. Both are slated to open next summer. The original manga author Hajime Isayama is supervising the new characters, story and the film’s formidable enemy.

Back in April, Haruma Miura (Shota Kazehaya in Kimi No Todoke) was named the lead of the live-action film. This time, a list of the other cast members was finally revealed: Hiroki Hasegawa (Shu Koibuchi in Princess Jellyfish),Kiko Mizuhara (The shaman in Trick The Movie: Last Stage),Kanata Hongō (Jōichiro Nishi in Gantz),Takahiro Miura (Hansuke Doi in Ninja Kids!!!),Nanami Sakuraba (Asumi Kamogawa in Twin Spica),Satoru Matsuo (Noboru Itami in Thermae Romae),Satomi Ishihara (Akane Ayukawa in Sadako 3D),Pierre Taki (Pierre in Linda Linda Linda),Jun Kunimura (Boss Tanaka in Kill Bill: Vol. 1),Shu Watanabe (Eiji Hino / Kamen Rider OOO in Kamen Rider OOO),Ayame Misaki (Escape in Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters), and Rina Takeda (Kei Tsuchiya in High Kick Girl!).

For those not familiar with the franchise:

The story of Attack on Titan takes place in a world where the remnants of humanity live inside a series of connected cities, isolated by enormous walls. These walls exist to keep the Titans out, gigantic humanoid creatures who devour humans seemingly without reason. These Titans have reduced the world's population to staggeringly low numbers. The 3 main protagonists of Isayama's manga are Eren Jaeger, his adoptive sister Mikasa Ackerman, and their friend Armin Arlert. Their lives are changed forever when a "Colossal Titan" breaches the wall protecting their town, leading to the death of Eren's mother. Vowing revenge and to reclaim the world from the Titans, Eren, Mikasa and Armin join the  Survey Corps, an elite group of soldiers who fight Titans outside the walls.

Both Funimation and Crunchyroll streamed the anime version of the manga as it aired in Japan, and Funimation released the first part of the series on home video this year.

In December 2013, along with the announcement that  Shinji Higuchi would be helming the live-action Attack on Titan movie, came news that an early look at his take on the hit series would be coming from an Attack on Titan collaboration ad for the Subaru Forester. Check the ad spot below

Recap of Monday Night RAW 8/5/14.....

Recap of Monday Night RAW 8/5/14.....

So RAW starts with The Authority in the ring....almost enough to make you change the channel. Then after the shameless plug or the WWE network (which by the way is only $9.99) Roman Reigns comes out. And a last man standing match is announced 13 minutes into the show which is great...and it was next after the commerical....which was even better! Great match between Reigns and Kane. Lots of rough spots. Reigns get busted open for real. He looks to be ok though. He then takes a choke slam through a table. But it makes it back up. Then hits supermna punch and a spear for the win. Awesome way to start with some good wrestling.

Next is a great promo featuring Brock vs Cena at Summerslam. The video actually got me excited for the match. The build is Cena wants to be the one who beat the one (meaning the 1 in Undertaker's 21-1 streak). It came off very well. Followed by a another WWE network promo. This time saying it goes international, announcement later.

Next up is the ever entertaining Damien Sandow dressed as an Oklahoma Sooner football player. He gets squashed by a returning Mark henry in 47 seconds. Adam Rose in a backstage segment looks in the Occulus mirror inhabited by an evil spirit. He sees himself in a suit and says that guy is a lemon and moves on with his rosebuds.

Beat the clock challenge. Dean Ambrose VS Del Rio and Seth Rollins VS RVD. Winner announces stipulation at Summerslam. Ambrose wins at 15:42. Later on, Rollins was scheduled to face RVD but it was announced RVD was not his opponent anymore (what a waste of bringing him back for this, he deserves more). Heath Slater of all people took his place. Of course Ambrose makes his appearance. He takes the contract out rips it up and creates chaos at ringside. Slater rolls up Seth for the win. Pandamonium.

The fillers were Fandango losing to Diego ...again....continuation of Bo and R-Truth.....this time Bo wins.....and Rusev destroys Sin Cara during the comercial break. Swagger and Zeb come o out for a nice in-ring segment. Major heat on Lana. Finally, the Dusts as they are called (Goldust and Stardust) beat RybAxel ...again...but Stardust....wayyyyyyyyy over!

Jericho beats Luke Harper by DQ. Rowan comes in eats a code beraker. Harper comes back at him, code breaker. Then, Bray hits Sister Abigail. Nice segment, nice feud, shaping up for a great upper mid-card match.

The closing segment featured the contract signing of Stephanie and Brie. They exchange words back and forth signs the conrtract. Then Stephanie hits 2 good looking pedigrees. I'm not sure how this segment will be delivered in the ratings but i'm sure to track it. Either way, they need Brock back on TV ASAP. Make people care about the main event not just through promos.

LifeProof Case Review

Do you have a Smart Phone or Tablet? Well I am sure you do!!! I’m also pretty sure that is either an iPhone, iPad, or a Samsung Galaxy. Are you looking for the best case for your device? Well search no more because I think I found one of the best cases for your device. It's called LIFEPROOF!!!
LifeProof is one of the best cases I ever had for my phone. This case will give you a full protection for your devices and give you the freedom you will need. Here is a little bit about LifeProof.

LifeProof is a young vibrant company based in San Diego that designs, manufactures and markets LifeProof cases for all-environmental protection, functionality and interactivity to SmartPhones and Tablet PCs. There company mantra is “Freedom”- freedom to be connected anywhere with your mobile device.

Freedom is the perfect word to use for this case, due to this case gives you a full protection for your device. They call this The Four Proofs (Water, Dirt, Shock, and Snow).
Water Proof Take the plunge!

LifeProof delivers the highest rating against water ingress of any case on the market. That means you can surf, swim or soak without dunking your device. And, when it comes to everyday drenching like wild weather, surprise spills and kitchen calamities, your electronics stay high and dry.

Dirt Proof
Do it in the dirt! The same superior water protection that keeps your device dry also seals it from dust, dirt and sand. Take your device hiking, biking, hunting and fishing. Use it on the job, on the field or on the beach. Dirt, dust, sand, grit and mud stay out – your music, apps, calls and camera stay active.

Snow Proof
Let it snow! A case that keeps water and dirt out has no problem with snow, ice and sleet. Shoot the slopes on two sticks or one. Slice the ice on the rink or pond. Run for cover from surprise storms or freak flurries. Take a walk in a winter wonderland or a slushy wasteland. With LifeProof, your electronics are always ready for winter. Shock Proof.

Just Drop It!
Phone fumbles and tablet tumbles are the most common forms of device destruction. LifeProof cases are built to exceed stringent Military Specifications for drop protection, keeping your electronics protected from the bumps and bruises of day-to-day living.

When it comes to the design LifeProof also did a great job. This case is one of the tiniest case I’ve ever seen. It gives you all this protection than other cases out in the market. Other cases are bulkier and if it’s tinier you don’t get the same protection. They also come in different colors and design for you own liking. They made two versions of the case frē and nüüd .

Frē: Built-in scratch protector completely safeguards touchscreen.
Nüüd: Screen less technology that lets you touch actual touchscreen

I’ve used both frē and nüüd cases and I will say both are great. The only bad thing I can say is that the frē didn’t last long due to wear and tear. The material that they use was rubber so after using on a day to day  baisis, of in and out of the pocket the rubber starts wearing off. Before you know it the front part started to fill-off then the scratch protector came off. But with that being said the case did protect my iPhone for almost two years and it did save my phone multiple times. I drop my phone in the pool and lost it for more than 30 minutes. When I finally found it, the phone was still working. I also drop my phone so many times and my phone didn’t get a scratch or crack on it. I feel that nüüd case is a little better than the frē due to the material that was use. The nüüd case is more of a hard plastic material that I thing is more durable than the rubber. Even if your screen is exposed LifeProof does provide a little screen protector. Also nüüd case all around body is built a little sturdier than the frē.

The bad thing about the case that I think a lot of people are having problems with is the price.
The frē cost $79.99 and the nüüd $89.99. With this price people do back-out on buying it. However if you really think about it. The case is worth the price, due to the fact that it protects your phone or tablet completely. Do the math buying all the cheap case does add up at the end. In addition you’re not protecting your device completely. The other flaw is that the slot of the charger is only allowing you to use the original charging cable or something close to it. Anything bigger than what is provided won’t fit. In addition they only made cases for iPhone (4,4s, 5, 5c, 5s), iPad (2/3/4,mini,Air), iPod (Gen 4and 5) and Samsung Galaxy (S3, S4,S5). Overall this case is still by far the best case I have use. The case is durable, protects your device completely, and totally gives you the freedom that you need. If you're looking for the best case, I suggest that you get this and if want to get the best price check is out on amazon.com

Resident Evil (Gamecube Remake) Coming To Next Gen and Current Gen

Today Capcom announce that the original Resident Evil will be release on next gen and current gen consoles. Before you think of the original Playstation one version that's on PSN. That is not the one being released. The one Capcom plans to release is the Gamecube remake that took place in 2002. Using the latest resolution enhancement and 3D model technology, game resolutions and textures have been significantly upgraded, including 1080p support on next-gen consoles, resulting in characters and backgrounds coming to life in greater detail than ever seen before in Resident Evil. Not only will the graphics impress but the tense sound effects have been fully remastered with 5.1 surround support for a greater gaming atmosphere. Players are now able to choose not only between experiencing the terror at the classic 4:3 ratio or a stunning 16:9 widescreen mode but also the type of control scheme they play with. The classic control scheme remains for fans of the original play style or there’s an alternative scheme where the character moves directly in the direction of the analogue stick, utilizing the standards of the current generation of gaming. Both the control scheme and the display options can be toggled between at any time during gameplay. Check out some stills below. Hopefully Capcom will finally remake Resident Evil 2 next.

Gods In The Grey City By Lenni (Book Review)

Title - Gods In The Grey City
Author - Lenni
Illustrator/Book Cover- Melody Herbert
Pages - 49

Otakus and Geeks very own Lenni is a published author, if you didn't know. Lenni has written a total of four books in the course of the last three years. They can be picked up on Kindle and various other locations. I will be giving a non biased review on all four of Lenni's books all this month.

Story - Ciro buys more than he bargained for when he purchases a slave capable of bypassing the brand on her magic. He drags her on a journey with him to learn her secrets, but his own may kill them both.

One of the strongest things "Gods In The Grey City" has going for it is the characters. As previous stated in the story synopsis, the story is focused on a man named Ciro. Ciro purchases a slave by the name of Tia. Tia is a member race that is looked down upon called the Muri. Together they have have to complete Ciro's which I won't spoil for you. If you're a fan of fantasy then "Gods In The Grey City" is something you want to check out. The two main characters Ciro and Tia are enjoyable to read. What makes them the driving force of the book is how different they are. Ciro is a man that lives by a strict code and guidelines. He's a loner, a man who you tell by reading the story has a lot of layers in his past. Tia is a woman who very protective and cutthroat. Being a slave and having faced a lot of adversity has harden her. As the story progresses you will find out how she became that way. Finding out the backstories of the character is where I had the most fun. Lenni did a very good job flushing out Ciro and Tia's identities. Lenni also did a great job of setting up an entire world for Ciro and Tia to interact with. Some places in this world are not friendly to Tia's race the Muri. In addition some there a places that are not friendly to Ciro's. Seeing how the two characters have to interact with these hostilities, while trying to stay alive was a pleasure.

Overall if you like fantasy, magic and strong female characters, give "Gods In The Grey City" a shot. It's filled with two compelling characters and a great supporting cast. The story has action, some heartbreaking moments My only complaint is that the book is short with only 49 pages. Once it's done you would want more from Tia and her world.

Final Rating 8.5/10

Gods In The Grey City is available on Amazon

Being Us Review

Being Us stars Alanna Ubach, Michael Navarra and Patrick Russell. The film is directed and written by Sam Hamcock. When a woman with multiple personality disorder finds herself uncontrollably chasing danger in the form of one-night stands with abusive men, she's ready to end it all. Can a relationship with one good man change her mind?

World of Tanks Blitz Review

Do you like shooting games? Do you like Tanks?  Well lucky for you the developers from Wargaming.net made a game for you. World of Tanks is the latest mobile game from Wargaming.net. How does the game hold up? Is this worth checking out? Or should you give this war game a treaty?

First I must say this game really wowed me. That is all due to the amazing graphics and controls of the game. I played the game for a a couple of days and now I'm hook. I love the fact that they gave you a quick tutorial on how to play the game. I found this useful because it gave me time to get a feel for the game. While the graphics are great for a mobile platform, the controls on the iPhone 5 was difficult. The controls feels like it was designed for a bigger screen or platform. However if you play this on an iPad mini or even the regular iPad this game is just wow.

This game is really addicting and you keep playing it over and over. If you're a fan of tanks and shooting you might want to check it out. The only downfall of this game was it's a little to slow framerate wise from time to time. The game play of using strategy and planning things out, making sure you get the right equip upgrade before battles is really great. The battle itself play out well. I just didn't like the fact that the tanks move slow.

But that just me. So if you ask me what I will have this game?

This game gets a 8.5/10

Great graphics

Great control

Great concept

Totally a dream game for tanks lover and shooting game fanatic.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Rechargable Speaker from eKids.com

Are you a fan of TMNT? Do you like music? Well, lucky for you!!! eKids has done it again. If you love TMNT check out eKids.com for their new TMNT rechargeable speakers. These small speakers are great for a desk speaker and at the same time you can show off how much you like TMNT. They have all four characters so you can pick your favorite turtle The other great thing about this speaker is the price, for $24.99 it's not bad. (also check out amazon.com for cheaper price) The quality of the sound is not the greatest if you're going compare it to Boombotix or Beats. But for a small desk speaker and for the price you pay for its worth it. The design of this speaker is also really great. I love the detail of each turtle. Check out the pics below.

Recap of Monday Night RAW 7/28/14

Recap of Monday Night RAW 7/28/14.....

Say what you will about John Cena, but there are certain guys that he has 5 star matches with. Cesaro is definitely one of those guys and I get the goosebumps just thinking what a Wrestlemania main event match between the two would be like. This match on RAW was definitely one that keeps you tuned in and had a decent amount of TV time which is always appreciated by me and wrestling enthusiasts. Heyman on the mic is always gold. But its strange in their explaining Cesaro not a Heyman guy anymore. I think Vince changing things at the last minute is confusing everyone.

Meanwhile elsewhere, Ziggler continues to shine wherever he is in the lineup. It seems he is headed for a Summerslam showdown with The Miz. So much wasted potential for the I.C. title.

Bo Dallas undefeated streak is over. To R-truth. That was highly funny and entertaining. The inevitable soar loser side of Bo came out which was a nice surprise to see.

Won't even waste time with the Damien Sandow and Adam Rose segment.

Kane was supposed to fight Roman Reigns. But instead Randy Orton drops a major beatdown on him. Although the segment was good, it was another contest where no winner was awarded. Another advertised match which never happened. Then what do you know, beautiful match between Jericho and Seth Rollins end with no winner. Don't get me wrong love seeing the Wyatts but I need to see a winner and a loser. No decision is such a lazy and gutless decision.

Then we end with Brie and Stephanie. Really. Who said Brie is the draw her husband is. Stephanie getting  arrested was beautiful but that doesn't mean you end with that as the show ends. I'm interested in seeing the ratings for this week. I will post a follow up once I see.

Once again a lackluster effort for the flagship program.

Guardians of the Galaxy Review

At Comic Con this past weekend Marvel announced that Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is set to hit theatres in 2017 a week before the first one is even released. This was a huge risk especially because the comic series of Guardians of the Galaxy does not have a fan base  anywhere near that of Spiderman or X-Men. So why Guardians of the Galaxy? Because there is nothing like it!

Director and screenwriter James Gunn deserves all the credit for this one of a kind super hero flick. He chose to incorporate a lot of comedy throughout the movie. This distracts the audience from the confusing planet names, character names, and proper weaponry terminology that makes other space odysseys impossible to follow. He also cast the perfect team  with the help of the amazing Sarah Finn. Even though you may not recognize the name you’ve definitely seen her work. Since Iron Man is 2008 she has been the casting director for multiple Marvel movies including The Avengers, Thor and Captain America. She has done an incredible job finding actors who truly embody the essence of  each character from the comic book, bringing their own interpretation to the big screen.

We’ve seen Zoe Saldana kick butt before but not like this. While it’s known she loves spending an afternoon at the shooting range, a gun seems to be her last resort in this film. Her athleticism  and incredible flexibility are apparent. She also has a way of using subtle acting choices despite her heavy make up. A WWE star was the perfect choice for Drax the Destroyer. Dave Bautista proves that acting is inherent for wrestling stars. His comedic timing is impeccable and he vibes off of the other actors as if they’ve been working together for years.  Chris Pratt as the quick witted Peter Quill is vibrant and engaging. He was honestly the perfect choice. Other actors that screen tested for the role include Joseph Gordon Levitt, Aaron Paul and Eddie Redmayne. Despite their incredible acting chops none of them have the innate comical sensibilities required to make Starlord as cheeky as Pratt does.

The star of this movie hands down is the animation and special effects team, along with the sound editors and voice talent. Grut is literally a living plant monster who can only say “I am Grut.” Though Vin Diesel, who was the voice of Grut, didn’t have much to work with the animators do a spectacular job using Grut’s eyes to convey emotions and intentions clearly to the audience. The ultimate gold star, however, goes to the team responsible for the crass, genius mastermind himself, Rocket the Racoon. Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler were both rumored to be considered for this rambunctious rodent but would have been a more wacky almost joke of a character. Bradley Cooper, whose voice is almost unrecognizable, chose a grounded relatable voice making Rocket as real as a gun slinging racoon could be. Also the animation is far from a cartoon. The audience can see every strand of hair and every whisker move just like the humanoid characters in the movie.

Other honorable mentions include: Lee Pace as the maniacal heartless genocidal villain Ronan, John C. Reilly as relatable Corpsmen Dey, and Glenn Close as the strong leader Nova Prime.

So in the end, although the plot is predictable and the length is about 30 minutes too long Guardians of the Galaxy is a summer blockbuster no one should miss. It is truly a unique addition to the Marvel Universe that leaves its audience in fits of laughter. Bring on the sequel!!!

Guardians of the Galaxy hits theaters nationwide this Friday August 1st.

Final Score: 4/5
