Sad Anime Theme Songs (Part 1)
/
It's Music Monday and it's time to journey into the emotion of sadness. Today we explore some sad Anime songs. These songs are moving, inspirational or just down right depressing. Check out some of these sad Anime theme songs.
Last Kiss By Bonnie Pink from the Anime "Gantz." - The "Last Kiss" is a heartbreaking song, describing a final kiss, a final touch and longing for someone. It fit perfectly for "Gantz."
Mirai no Futari ni (Piano Version) By Chihiro Yonekura from the Anime "Gundam 08th MS Team." - A wonderful love song from "Gundam 08th MS Team", the lyrics and Chihiro Yonekura vocals just moves you.
Hikari By Jyukai from the Anime "Fate/Stay Night." - Nothing like people taking different paths, and longing for each other to make you go :(. Great production on this song.
Girls Dead Monster My Song By Miyuki Sawashiro from the Anime "Angel Beats." - A very song that really hits the emotion if you understand the lyrics, and this woman can sing.
Kimi toTaiyou ga Shinda hi By Kurosaki Maon from the Anime "High School Of The Dead." - A very sad end of the world type of song, despair, but inspirational at the same time. My favorite song from "High School Of The Dead."

The Walking Dead': First look at the prison and prison zombies! EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS
/
Ask most readers of The Walking Dead comic book what their
favorite setting is and they’ll say two words: the prison. Seen briefly
in the distance in the final shot of season 2, the prison will become
the new fortress/home for Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and company when
the AMC drama returns in October… if they can clear it out of undead
walkers, that is. And now we have our exclusive first sneak peek of the
jail, as well as the current zombie inhabitants that call it home. In
the first photo, our survivors assume a defensive, Avengers-like
position to handle any incoming ghouls, while in the second, a machete
wielding Maggie (Lauren Cohan) prepares to deliver a kill shot to a
zombie inmate. Check out the photos below as well as intel from
executive producers Glen Mazzara and Robert Kirkman on the highly
anticipated new setting for season 3.
“I’m incredibly proud of the prison,” says showrunner Glen Mazzara. “I think our crew has done a great job. It’s a huge sense of scale and magnitude I haven’t seen on any other show as far as construction. What’s important to us is the prison itself is now a character in the show. It’s a haunted house, it’s scary, it’s frightening, and there are parts of the prison that are always terrifying, that are always inaccessible to our group. It’s not necessarily the blessing that the prison in the comic book turned out to be.”

Read MoreLenni Reviews: "Flame of Surrender" by Rhiannon Paille
/
I
don’t intend to start every review with a warning but, this seems to be how
life goes. So, my warning here is I have not read a Young Adult book in about
16 years. When I say I started this book and three pages into it, I’m all WTF,
it’s my fault, not the book’s fault. It took a great deal of reprogramming to
make my brain adjust to simpler words and shorter sentences but it got there. I
also may have injured something so you guys owe me.
Flame
of Surrender, by Rhiannon Paille is a good fantasy story about two young people
in love when destiny conspires to keep them apart. It is also a tale familiar
to anyone who has had to grow up and just didn’t want to. It’s not star crossed
love that weighs the heaviest on Kaliel and Krishani, it is their coming of
age, the weight of their responsibilities smothering their innocence before the
bad stuff even starts.
Kaliel
is a living weapon called a “flame” and she falls for a boy named Krishani,
whose destiny is to follow deal and replace the Ferryman. While their world is
rich and well built, the romance isn’t quite there in the beginning, the kids
focusing on where their destinies are taking them rather than each other.
The
fantasy elements are all here; magic, soothsaying trees, everything to keep my
internal geek happy while I was reading. But only while I was reading. If I put
the book down, I forgot about the characters. I found myself needing to refresh
my memory by going back to the previous sections to remember who was who. The timing is off, too. I was often lost between chapters; not knowing how much time had passed. The romance is also forgettable. I literally forgot the two main characters were in love until the author told me they were. The story jerks forward in some places and drags
in others, making the reading experience surreal. It’s a good story, but it
needed more to really grip my attention even after I put it down.
If
I had a rating system (I’ll come up with something) this book would be firmly
in the middle. Not bad but not the best I’ve read. If you're a hardcore fantasy fan, I'd say borrow this one if you're really interested in it.
The Amazing Spider-Man Game Review
/
Is he strong listen bud, he's got radioactive blood. Can he swing from a thread, just press the shoulder button overhead. Hey there let's review The Amazing Spider-Man! All joking and my horrible bad lyrics aside. "The Amazing Spider-Man" returns Spider-Man to his playground of New York City, in addition the web head returns to his free roam form. Is this game worth the title of amazing? Or is it time for Peter to return to the lab?
Story - Due to major spoilers this game gives out regarding the movie. I will not say too much on the story. The story takes places after the events of "The Amazing Spider-Man" movie. That is all I will say about that, because it spoils that much of the movie. Let's just say Spider-Man has to find a cure and that is all I will reveal. However I will say the story is pretty decent for the most part, and Spider-Man will have to do battle with some of the more lackluster villains in this one.
Gameplay - The Amazing Spider-Man gameplay is a little different from the other adventures we had with Spider-Man, however at the same time some things haven't change. This is a good and bad thing. First the good. Spider-Man fighting mechanics have been revamp to appeal to a more free flow fighting style. Not to compare to any other game but fans of the Batman Arkham series will feel right at home with this fighting style. Just like the Arkham series, the free flow works well, where ever you tell Spidey to punch and kick he will go to that direction. Spidey sense will highlight above his head for incoming danger, so you can easily dodge or reverse an attack. However not all enemies can be defeated the same way like previous games. Some enemies will have to be taken down with stealth attack. This usually will have Spidey hanging above the ceiling picking his targets quickly from the shadows and taking them out. Others will require to be damage by Spidey's Web Shooters or Web Rush attack. Web Rush can be used for various things. It can be used as a quick attack against enemies, slow down time to pick a place to web zip, it can indicate when to do a stealth take down and finally interact with objects.
The highlight of Web Rush is when you are swinging in Manhattan. Spidey can zip from place to place and it makes the swinging feel really epic. Speaking of swinging "The Amazing Spider-Man" has the best swinging so far. The physics in this makes you really feel like Spider-Man, you would think the developers actually had someone do the physics in the studio. The feeling is smooth, free and most importantly fun. This game is fun to play, however there is some stuff that hold the game back from pure epicness. When announced that this game was going to free foam I jump for joy, and started to question what would the side missions be. If you played "Spider-Man 2" than you already played "The Amazing Spider-Man." The side missions are repetitive! Stop people from being assaulted, help the police with a car chase, get people to the hospital in time, take pictures for a reporter. Don't get me wrong the side missions are fun, but with a city alive like New York City, you think Spider-Man would have more to do. There are some cool ones though the side missions with Bruce Campbell are the most challenging ones. You also have to collect 700 comic books scattered around the city. The great thing about that is these are actual comics you can read in the extra section. The only flaw with collecting the comic books is that there is no indication of where to find them, you just randomly stubble upon them. Overall the game is fun to play, minus the repetitiveness but then again all games are repetitive.
Gameplay Video
Graphics - The graphics are pretty good. Spidey looks good, New York looks okay minus some few landmark inaccuracy's, however that is just nitpicking from a native New Yorker. There are sometimes where character designs and locations look bland, and I did have a little trouble with a certain camera angle like a building loading as you were swinging, but that only happen once. Otherwise the graphics are good and the city looks okay.
Sound - The voice acting is solid for the most part. Spidey is witty, and he will make you laugh, but there will be times you'll wish he will shut up. Not because he is talking, but because he is repeating himself. If I have to hear him say stay frosty one more time! The music is not better than his previous installment "Edge Of Time."
The music doesn't gives us that same epic feel and you really don't feel really encourage to save the day, there are some nice tracks but nothing really stands out.
Replay Value - If you have the Stan Lee DLC that is replay value right there, tons of comics to collect and side missions to handle. Spider-Man does offer some replay value but it might not be enough for some gamers. There is comics to read and extras and character concept art to check out as well.
Final Grade C+/7.5 - The Amazing Spider-Man isn't bad game. It just doesn't give you a full course meal. The game is fun to play, but can feel repetitive at times, the voice acting is solid but repeated dialogue can get annoying, overall it is still worth checking out for any web head.

LEGOs on Google Chrome
/
Do you like LEGOs?
Do you have Google
Chrome?
Well how about mixing those two into some freakish LEGO set?
Well that doesn't happen but cause it would be a pretty piss poor
set, lacking any real creativity... I think.
Anyhow, There's a team
up between LEGO and Google that created this little game where you
can use Chrome to make small LEGO things. I mainly went with an house
because their aren't many parts for you to choose from. There are only 12 parts to pick but
they come in 10 different colors so a total of 120 parts you can mix
and match.
Hopefully it
will be expanded on, but right now if your bored and want to try something that shows how flexible Googles browser is I would check that
out.
Be sure to check it out here

The Songs Of Spider-Man
/
Spider-Man week continues here at Otakus and Geeks. Today is "Music Monday" so we will be looking at the many songs of Spider-Man. The songs range from themes, covers and even the Broadway play.
Spider-Man 60's Cartoon Theme - This is the most recognizable song in Spider-Man history is the theme song from the 60's cartoon show. If you call yourself a web head you better know this song!
Spider-Man 60's Cartoon Theme (Asian Lady From Spider-Man 2) - Same theme, just way too funny to ignore this. I love Tobey's face when she tries to hit the high note.
Spider-Man TAS Theme - Another great theme that all web heads will be familar with. Spider-Man TAS theme written and performed by Joe Perry of Aerosmith.
Supaidaman Japanese Theme Song - Here is the theme song from the 1970's Japanese adapation of Spider-Man. It's really catchy and would make a great Anime theme.
Gifts And Curses By Yellowcard (Spiderman 2 OST) - You know a long time ago movie soundtracks had songs that were INSPIRED by the film. Usually the songs had lyrics relating to the movie, or certain character themes. Yellowcard nailed the feel of Spiderman 2 with this amazing song "Gifts And Curses" describing Peter and Mary Jane relationship.
Hero By Nickelback Featuring Josey Scott - Hero is another great song from the Spider-Man OST. If doesn't scream Spider-Man I don't know what does.
Spider-Man Fan Rap - A Spider-Man fan raps about his favorite web head. I like the beat.
Rise Above By Reeve Carney Featuring Bono - Spider-Man Broadway has some really amazing songs and a great theme. Here is one of my favorites that really screams Spider-Man.

Supaidaman (Japanese Spiderman Toei TV Series)
/
Spider-Man week continues and today I wanted share something for people who might probably didn't know about this. Back in the late 70's Spider-Man had a series of live action shows, one was actually in Japan. The popular Toei company and Marvel produced a 41 episode series and one film. Here is a brief synopsis of the show.
"Young motorcycle racer Takuya Yamashiro sees a UFO falling to earth, in fact a space warship named the "Marveller" from the planet "Spider". Takuya's father Dr. Hiroshi Yamashiro, a space archaeologist, investigates the case, but is killed upon finding the spaceship. The incident also brings the attention of Professor Monster and his evil Iron Cross Army (鉄十字団 Tetsu Jūji Dan?), an alien group that plans to rule the universe. Takuya follows his father to the Marveller and discovers Garia, the last surviving warrior of Planet Spider, a world that was destroyed by Professor Monster and the Iron Cross Army. Garia explains that he was hunting Prof. Monster but now needs someone to carry on the fight and he injects Takuya with some of his own blood. The blood of a person from Planet Spider gives Takuya spider-like powers. Garia then gives Takuya a bracelet that can activate his spider protector costume, shoot web-lines, and controls the Marveller ship (which can also transform into a giant battle robot called "Leopardon"). Using his powers, Takuya, now called Spider-Man, fights Professor Monster's army and other threats to Earth under the name Spider-Man."
Check out the very first episode of Supaidaman, It's pretty cool and fun too watch. The theme song is catchy!

Title: Takidani Koukou Manga Club
Author: ???
Illustrator: ???
Pages: 21
Story - Masaki Masamichi has his heart set on joining the legendary manga club of Takidani High School. After all of his effort to get into Takidani High School and prepare for his club entrance, he finds out that a horrible change has happened to the club of which he dreamed. How will he cope with the disappointment of learning that his long-awaited club life consists of drawing ero-manga?
The story of Takidani Koukou Manga Club is awesome. I love the set up of this Manga. Masaki is a very driven guy, who sacrificed everything from friendship, lying to his parents and many more to get into this school so he can join this manga club. When he finally gets to his dream club he finds out that nobody is around except a girl name Kikuko Kagami. Kikuko is a second year student and is in charge of the Takidani Koukou Manga Club. Masaski finds out the club is no more because of Kikuko and it's now an erotic manga. The story is well put together and with only two characters you get a very good detail on who each person is. Kikuko is obsessed with erotic manga, and she really brings a great comedic element to this story. While Masaki is shy, and reserved Kikuko has a let's do it, let's experience what life have to offer, and it really starts to rub off Masaki towards the end. Unfortunately Takidani Koukou Manga Club is a one shot manga, so therefore a heavy focus on backstory is non existent. The story also leaves you with a cliffhanger which will frustrate you, because just when you really get invested into it the story is over, and since it's a one shot you know that is the end of the story. Other than those complaints this is still a manga you should check out. It has interesting characters, a great plot, but ends to quick.
Art - The art style is beautiful. I really the close up's of the characters because you see how passionate they are. This really applies to Kikuko when she starts talking about erotic manga, her eyes get really demonic and you can see this is important to her. The environments are great as well, plenty of attention to detail.
Final Grade B-/8.0 - Takidani Koukou Manga Club is really fun but short read. You can tell that if this was a series it will be very memorable. For a one shot manga it does really well to get the reader into this world. The characters are fun, the story is funny and the art is great.

TIGER & BUNNY (rated TV-14) is set in Stern Bild, a metropolitan city where superheroes called NEXT help to maintain peace. Sporting sponsor logos on their suits, these heroes work to solve cases and save people’s lives in order to earn Hero Points, while also helping to improve the public image of their corporate sponsors. Their activities are documented and broadcast by the popular show “HERO TV,” in which each superhero strives to become the “King of Heroes” of the year.
One such hero is Wild Tiger (real name Kotetsu T. Kaburagi), a veteran superhero who relies on his years of experience and instincts to fight crime. Though obligated to work for his boss’s best interest, Kotetsu follows his own code of honor and is even willing to cause destruction to public property for the sake of protecting the lives of his fellow citizens. Over time, he has grudgingly earned the nickname “Crusher for Justice.” Now, Kotetsu suddenly finds himself forced to team up with rookie hero Barnaby Brooks Jr.

Crash Plan 3.0 Review
/
Crash Plan 3.0 is a design for users to backup their data online, on a friends computer, in addition to any computers they have in the house. Is this the program you need to backup your system?
One thing I like about Crash Plan is that it's very user friendly, it's simple and not to complicated to understand. Unlike other backup software out there, Crash Plan has an unlimited storage plan. When you first start Crash Plan you have the option to storage online using "Crash Plan Central" this will cost around $50 a year for one computer and it's unlimited storage. If you need to store more data for more than one computer you have the family plan which is $120 a year, which is kind of pricey. The second option is backing up to a friend's computer. This can be done by sending a simple email to them and you can connect with them of the Crash Plan Network. However you can't share files with your friends over the network, which was disappointing.
Backing Up & Restoring Files - Crash Plan does a good job of backing up and storing your files. However there is a flaw with this software, searching for backups you have done is non existent. You'll have to go through file to file, folder to folder to find a specific data, while other softwares like SOS Online Backup offer this feature, Crash Plan does not. However that small complaint doesn't truly hurt the software. Crash Plan when you start to backup files already knows which folders to backup from the start. Folders like "My Documents" will already be on the backup list. The program will then determine how much space the backup will take, and begin once you have all the files you have ready. You can also have multiple backup's, each with their own files and data. Another great thing about Crash Plan is that it sends email notification, but it has also a social network feature as well. Users can get info and updates on their backup's confirmation on their Twitter accounts, which is very impressive. The online storage doesn't take too long depending on connection. Files with 300 mb take like 15 to 20 mins to upload online, similar to a 10 minute Youtube video. Restoring files online is disappointing, it only allows you restore files that you have used on that specific machine. For example I can't restore a friend's file from the Cpu I use, it will have to be done with the one he uses. Restoring files offline is a breeze, you can do the most recent, or check by the date. I had no real problems getting my data back.
Final Grade B-/8.0 - Overall Crash Plan is another good backup software. It's user friendly, quick to understand and simple. It does have it's flaws but maybe future installments and add-ons it will be worked out.
