Toonami the great showcase of great Anime shows as Dragonball Z, Rurouni Kenshin, Gundam Wing and many others is heading back to Cartoon Network. This time Toonami will be on the "Adult Swim" block, this is actually really good news for us Anime fans. Let me explain a little bit, why Toonami return is great for Anime. Toonami Airs May 26th 12:00 AM on Adult Swim on Cartoon Network!
Anime Exposure On Basic Cable: Let's face it, not everyone has Netflix or the Anime Channel, and Anime on basic cable is seen little to none. With Toonami's return that means fans will get a chance to see some Anime that they haven't seen, with two shows "Casshern Sins" and "Deadman Wonderland" joining the roster it will be a fresh start. However the only bad thing about this, is the schedule timing. Toonami might come on too late for some viewers, not everyone is going to stay up 12 to 3 AM to catch Anime. Thankfully with Toonami back it could mean more Anime will be seen, hopefully not just on Cartoon Network.
The Higher The Ratings, The More Anime We Will Get: If you know anything about television, then you know at least this, ratings keeps a show alive. No ratings the show will be cancelled for sure. It's going to be up to us to make sure Toonami stay alive. The more ratings, most likely a prime time slot will be given to Toonami which means more Anime shows. More Anime shows, means more revenue all around, let's be honest Anime in America is taking a slight drop, and Toonami could be that battery charge that it needs.
Reminds People Why Anime Stands Out: The reason what made Toonami so special was the Anime. It was something many people didn't see, especially on Cartoon Network. It brought people who never saw Anime into a world that is like no other. It turned people who never watch Anime ever into Anime fans. It showed people that Anime is awesome, and should be watched. Northstar was first introduced to comic fans in the pages of 1979’s Uncanny X-Men #120, a member of the super hero team Alpha Flight and antagonist to the popular super heroes. A gold medal winning Olympian and successful businessman, the French-Canadian super hero quickly became one of the most popular members of Alpha Flight when its ongoing series launched in 1983. In 1992’s historic Alpha Flight #106, Northstar became the first openly gay super hero when he announced his sexual identity through national media. Since then, Northstar has not only joined the X-Men but become one of their most popular new members. Northstar and Kyle have been a couple since 2009, garnering a large fan following since their first appearance together.

We had the pleasure of chatting with upcoming actress Abigail Klein. Abigail Klein is a former NFL Cheerleader for the "Dallas Cowboys", she also is an actress. We chatted with Abigail about her role in Adam Sandler's new movie "That's My Boy" and of course we manage to get her to talk about her inner geek, from romance novels to "Temple Run."
OtakusandGeeks.com: Can you tell us about your role in "That's My Boy" and how did you get the role and what was it like on set?
Abigail Klein: I play one of Jamie's bridesmaids who is played by Leighton Meester. My character is very fun loving, enthusiastic bridesmaid. I audition for my part last July. I went in did the audition and thought okay great that was fun, then I went home to Texas for the fourth of July thinking nothing of it. Then when I got back to L.A. I was told that I had gotten the part. Next thing I knew I was on the plane to Cape Cod to shoot for a month out there, with the most amazing cast ever! It's exciting to finally get to see it.
OtakusandGeeks.com: What have you learned being on set? Is there anything that you will take that you will use through the course of your career?
Abigail Klein: This is my first movie, so I'm was basically trying to soak up everything. The best part was the group of people I got to work with, Sandler, Samburg, and even James Caan, Rachel Dratch and Will Forte. Everybody was so down to earth, and welcoming so it made my first movie experience very comfortable. You learn a lot just watching these great actors.
OtakusandGeeks.com: Is it hard to work on a Comedy, you must have been laughing a lot of times during takes?
Abigail Klein: When most your cast members do Comedy, it's hard not crack up, sometimes they would crack themselves up and then the whole set would be laughing. It's a different set to be on, oppose to a more dramatic set. I really enjoyed laughing all day at work.
OtakusandGeeks.com: For those who don't know you were a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader? We assumed the Cowboys are your favorite team?
Abigail Klein: Go Cowboys! I grew up a Dallas Cowboys fan. I grew up in Irving, close where the players would train. My parents are die hard Cowboys fans, the Cowboys is basically in my blood.
OtakusandGeeks.com (Justin): That's very interesting since we are from and based in New York. I know my Uncle who is a die hard Cowboys fan and a Texan would agree with your support for the Cowboys.
Abigail Klein: New York huh *laughs.* Don't matter what team you cheer one thing is for sure, everyone cheers for the cheerleaders.
OtakusandGeeks.com: Agreed. Here at Otakus and Geeks we focus heavy on Anime, Videogames, Films, Books, etc. Being geek doesn't necessary mean you fall into those areas. Abigail what is your inner geek, what makes you geek out?
Abigail Klein: Romance Novels! I' am a sucker for romance novels. The latest one I'm reading "The 50 Shades Of Grey." It's a real page turner, it seems whoever picks up the book disappears for a while *laughs*. The book is really out there and I'm enjoying the series.
OtakusandGeeks.com: Time to answer some questions our readers have for you. John asked "Is it a difficult transition from going to one form of entertainment to another, going from cheerleader to actress?
Abigail Klein: That's a really good question, it's really different because I grew up dancing, I didn't grow up acting. I was always accustomed to performing for a bigger audience. I'm very comfortable in front 80,000 fans in a huge football stadium, when I made the decision to go to L.A. it was different arena. Acting is more of an imitate setting, and it's a real learning experience, because I'm out of my comfort zone.
OtakusandGeeks.com: Stacy asked "Every actor or actress has that one person they would love to work with. Who would you love to work with?
Abigail Klein: Betty White! I think she is awesome. I've been a fan of hers I would love to meet her.
OtakusandGeeks.com: Since you were on the topic of books earlier, what book would you love to live in?
Abigail Klein: Harry Potter series, to be a wizard would be amazing, having the wand and flying on the broom.
OtakusandGeeks.com: We love videogames here, so we have to ask do you play any type of games?
Abigail Klein: I don't really play that much videogames, but when I'm auditioning or taking a break I play "Temple Run" which is really addictive.
OtakusandGeeks.com: Finally what can we expect from "That's My Boy" and your words of wisdom?
Abigail Klein: You can expect a really funny movie, with an amazing cast. My words of wisdom is be happy.

Tony
Puryear is the first African American screenwriter to write a $100 million
summer movie blockbuster. His 1996 hit Eraser catapulted him into a
career writing pictures for A listers Jerry Bruckheimer (Buck Rogers),
Will Smith, and Oliver Stone. Puryear’s adaptation of the Ray Bradbury classic Fahrenheit
451 for Oscar-winning director Mel Gibson has circulated in Hollywood for
years as a legendary unproduced script. His latest script is Lady Scarface
for the new RKO Pictures.
A
talented artist and designer, Puryear was recently honored when his official
campaign poster for Hillary Clinton’s historic 2008 presidential run was added
to the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Institution’s National Portrait
Gallery.
He
lives in Los Angeles with his wife, actress and Concrete Park cocreator

If you grew up in the 90's or was a gamer in the early 2000's, there was one channel that you tuned into watch, that channel was G4TV. Now I won't get into how great G4TV was, mainly because I wrote an article of the great days of G4TV /www.otakusandgeeks.com/akusandgeeks.com/2010/08/what-happen-to-g4tv.html. However there have been past events and mainly recent events that have us questioning is this the end of G4TV? Not the great website, but the channel.
G4 gets pulled from Direct TV - I think this was a big hit for the once great channel. Getting pulled from Direct TV cuts a big percentage of their viewership, not everyone has Cable. Not being able to be seen through satellite TV is a big lost for any channel, and if your viewers can't see you how can your ratings stay up. With lost ratings, comes the lost of shows.
G4 Cancels Shows Catering To Their Audience - When your channel is brought or the corporate bosses decide to just say, screw whatever made your channel great and begins putting crap like "Cops" and "Cheaters" instead of shows like "Cheat", "Code Monkeys" and many more. It would be inevitable that viewers will start to tune out if all you have to offer us is "X-Play" and "Attack Of The Show." Imagine coming to Otakus and Geeks and we're not talking about Anime, Videogames, Comics, Films, etc. Instead we're talking about politics , our views on religion etc. You wouldn't come here anymore mainly because it has nothing to do with the subject matter of the site.
Olivia Munn Leaves Attack Of The Show - Geeks say what you want about Olivia Munn, some say she sold out, some say she was a poser using geek culture to get her name out there, regardless of what you think of Munn, there is no doubt she was awesome on "Attack Of The Show." Munn brought charm, charisma and she had wonderful chemistry with her co host Kevin Pereira. When Munn left to progress her career she took some of her audience with her, watching "Attack Of The Show" wasn't the same. The show was still entertaining but it was like playing Zelda without the Master Sword, something was missing.
Adam Sessler & Kevin Pereira Leaves G4TV - When your top guys call it quits, we have to question what's going on and why? Recently Adam Sessler and Kevin Periera said goodbye to G4 (Kevin at the end of May) and now questions are being raised. Why would they leave? What is going over there at G4 to make these veterans say I'm out? The influence of Sessler behind and in the front lines is a big lost and with the main host of "Attack Of The Show" leaving what will the show be like? Will fans embrace a new host? What is the future of X-Play? What is the future of G4 with so many key players gone? Is this the fall of G4TV? What do you think? Sound off in the comment section.
