This totally awesome costume was made by Capcom-Unity's Arlene. The costume includes Tron's own Gustaff mech and her Giga Servbot companion. A lot of time and effort was spent making this incredible costume, and it really pays off. Now maybe Capcom should start working on another Megaman Legends game!
At last I have return back to my true gamer form. I' am happy to say that I have returned back to playing Japanese imports. This is the first import I have brought in ten years since Dragonball GT. I was originally looking for Fatal Frame 4 which is only a Japan release. However I couldn't find it, so I brought Mobile Suit Gundam: MS Sensen 0079. I'm a huge Anime Mech fan and I love Gundam so I knew I would enjoy it. However Gundam games have a history of sucking. Is this the case for this game?
Story - The story follows the events of the year U.C. 0079. That is the first Gundam, Gundam 0079 and the 08th MS team. You won't play the game as the main characters. However you play as new recruits for either the Earth Federation Forces or Zeon Forces. Since I don't understand Japanese I can't give you the full core of the story. However the cut scenes are just mission briefings.
Gameplay - This game is a First Person Mech Simulation. It plays similar to many FPS on the Wii. You will control the mobile suits with both Wii Mote and the Nunchuck's. The Wii Mote is used to aim and shoot. Aim with the Wii Mote and press B to shoot. The A button brings out your Gundam beam weaponry sword. When you use this swing your Wii Mote up, down, left or right. If the Zeon scum also have their sword and attack at the same time, you will engage in a tug of war. Simply shake the Wii Mote as fast you can to win. The Z button is used to jump or speed up with your thrusters. The C button is used to lock on to your enemies. The d-pad is used to zoom into your enemies. Finally the 1 button is used to command your squad in nine different formations.
The missions can get very repetitive, however it is very fun. The missions usually involved you doing a few things, protecting convoy, other pilots or destroying Zeon fighters or locations. This doesn't mean that the game is easy. Actually the levels can get very challenging. This is why it's important to know the formation and where to send your team. There is also a cool underwater level in this game. The A.I. ranges from smart to dumb. Some Zeon pilots just stand there and let you shoot them. Then on the other hand the A.I. plans and execute very well, to give you a mission failed. In addition to the story mode, there is an ace pilot mode where you play as the Gundam characters such as Amuro and Shiro. Finally this wouldn't be a mech game without customization. You are able to customize your Gundam from colors, weapons and even change mobile suits. However you must earn enough points in the missions to buy. I suggest you get a B or higher like I did.
Gameplay Video
Graphics - The graphics are pretty impressive. The Gundams and Zeons look wonderful. It makes me wonder if Japan keeps all the good games to themselves. There is a few texture issues on some levels, however it's nothing that would ruin your experience. I had no framerate problems. I only wish that the map was a little bigger on some levels.
Sound - The sound is straight from the Anime. From the engine's and some of the voice actors. The music has a great Gundam feel and really makes you feel like you are apart of the anime. Put this game on surround sound and your neighbors will be calling the cops.
Replay Value - This is a fun game to play. The additions of Ace Pilot Mode and the ability to play with the Zeon Forces will keep you going.
Final Grade B+ - The Final Grade is a B+. This actually a fun Gundam game. Good controls, great modes and great sound. However I wish the maps were bigger and some missions are repetitive. Is it worth the high price import? I brought it for 50 bucks if you can find it cheaper than suit up.
This trailer or short film has been on Youtube. If this is the direction Mortal Kombat is going I say hell yes. Michael Jai White as Jax is perfect casting. If this a legit trailer then I say bring it on. What do you my gamer geeks of this? Does this look better than the first movie? Or is this just a trailer for the new MK game? Either way this has brought me back on the MK radar.
Yesterday Steve Jobs revealed the Iphone 4. The price will range from 200 to 300 dollars. Check out the videos below and tell us what you think of it. I like the video calling feature. However I bet Japan been had that technology in their phones like in 2005. I would join the Iphone team but I don't like AT&T. Also the fact they are taking the unlimited plan is enough for me to say no.
Synopsis - Kumiko left Japan for LA in hopes of becoming a famous actress, but so far has only managed to get jobs as a stuntwoman. Now that her brother is getting married, she's coming back to Japan to visit, but once she arrives, something goes terribly wrong...
Review - What goes terribly wrong for Kumiko is that she finds herself, in a life or death situation. Of course this is spoiler free so I won't go into detail. Allumage is a very fun Manga to read. Kumiko is a woman whom I would call unlucky. She can't get a acting job, she's returning home not having a real role yet. When her last stunt role wraps up, Kumiko gets a call from her agent. The agent states that he has a role for in a movie, because the actress can't do it. Kumiko decides to take the role, however she has to return back to Japan for her brother's wedding. The agent tells her she cannot damage or scar her body in anyway for it will ruin the part of the character. Kumiko returns home and gets place in situation where she faces life or death. I won't go into detail but she will have to choose between career or death.
The story is fun read, but I wish they explore Kumiko love for her brother a little bit more. It's a short read with only 50 pages, Kumiko story is a short ride. Allumage gets a B-.
This week's Cosplay group is Vampire Knight. What do you think of this group? Did they nail the characters? Which group do you think did a better job, group 1 or group 2 and why? Anime Rules!!!!!!!
We all know I love Ouran High School Host Club. Well today I found the actual music video of their theme song. Here is Sakura Kiss by Chieko Kawabe. This is a very cute music video. Who doesn't love the bunnies in the beginning? I would so love to be in this Music Video. Anime Rules!!!!!
I was feeling very nostalgic tonight. I decided to watch some cartoons from my childhood on Youtube. These cartoons focus on the videogame genre. Here are some cartoons that were based on Videogames.
Justin - Sonic SatAM was my favorite show out of all the videogame cartoons. Voiced by Jaleel White (Steve Urkel) he captured Sonic's attitude, style and love for chili dogs. This show originally aired on ABC and yes I will be buying the DVD set soon.
Sonic The Hedgehog SatAM
Justin - Super Mario World is probably the best out of all the Mario cartoons. Based on the SNES game Super Mario World, it brought our favorite Dinosaur Yoshi to life. I love the fact they included actually music from the game into the show.
Super Mario World
Justin - This is why Zelda should never be made into a motion picture, unless the gamers are directing it. There is so many things wrong with this cartoon I won't begin.
The Legend Of Zelda
Justin - Mortal Kombat I used to watched this on USA. This was actually pretty good. It stuck true to the style of Mortal Kombat, except there wasn't no gore. Hey it was a kids show.
Mortal Kombat
Justin - What can I say it's Jim and his cartoon was the bomb. Earthworm Jim
Justin - This is probably the best of all time. Mega Man cartoon was pure badass. It had an anime feel to it. It used a lot of his villians and we even saw Mega Man X.
I found this cool tutorial on Youtube. The guy who is given the tutorial name is Mark Crilley. I can draw a little bit, but I'm no where near this guy. These tutorials are very detail and should help anyone who wants to start their own manga. Check it out. Anime Rules!!!!!!
Once again I'm so angry with Japan lol. There is an Ouran High School Host Club game for the PS2 and DS. We need more Anime games in the USA. I mean good ones too. Check out the video's below. Anime Rules!!!!!!!! My Ouran High School Host Club fanfiction is coming soon Yay!
Here is the review of the Thai/Japanese film "Last Life In The Universe." This is a brilliant must watch film. It has a great theme and a wonderful story. Check out the review below.
If there is one thing I learned in this life is this. Don't mess with the dead. Don't try to contact them, leave them alone. They are dead for a reason. A survival horror game entitled "Calling" for the Nintendo Wii. It receive horrible reviews. Being that I'm a horror junkie I brought this game regardless of the reviews. Should you pick up the call when it rings? Or should press the ignore button?
Story - The Black Page is a source of many rumors. The page is blank, with only a vistor counter. Some say that it's connected to a chat room. "Those led by the darkness" may enter the chat, and are said to receive a "call from the depths." They enter "The Mnemonic Abyss," Wander between life and death, forever. Even today, curiosity will draw more vistors to the "The Black Page." In Calling you follow 4 characters, Rin Kagura, Shin Suzutani, Chiyo Kishibem and Makoto Shirae. Throughout the game you will play Rin who is the center of the story. Rin is looking for someone she promised to meet in person from the site. However the person has been missing for a while. Rin then comes across upon The Black Page, where she is taken to the crossroad of the spirit world and real world known as "The Mnemonic Abyss." In "The Mnemonic Abyss" Rin will encounter the three characters, and try to unravel the mystery of "The Black Page."
The story is a mixture of The Ring, The Grudge and One Missed Call. I like to think of it as a love letter to Asian horror. However there is a few problems I have with the story. 1. The character of Shin is an otaku and he is a big wimp. It is a stereotype that gets annoying. Why are all nerds or otakus seen as weak or wimps in the media? 2. The story is really obvious you know from the beginning who brings the people into the abyss. 3. Finally some of the dialogue is just horrible. Other than that it's a decent story that will keep you interested. Playing the game I felt more sorry for the ghost than the people.
Gameplay - The gamplay is REALISTIC! I had to put that in big letters. A lot of people didn't like the gameplay and labeled it boring. But ask yourself this, how in the world would shoot a ghost? Calling gameplay makes it realistic as possible. You use the Wii mote as a flashlight, as you journey through several locations such as, a hospital, school and a house. As you journey through the game you will use your cellphone to record white noise, take pictures and receive calls from ghost. The cellphone is also used to transfer to different areas of the abyss, by using numbers you find. By finding the right phone number you will transfer out of the abyss (thus why this game is called Calling.) When attack by the ghost all you have to do is shake your Wii mote. That's all folks no strategy just shake your Wii mote. The boss fights are basic, shake your Wii mote or enter another room. I actually like it because of that realism. If you were in front of ghost, running will be your only means of escape. The game is scary. The first three acts made me jump and some calls were disturbing. Gameplay Video
Graphics - The graphics in Calling is ok. It's not really up to Wii standards. The design is lazy and lacking. The hospital has the same design on each floor, minus a few room changes. There is pixelated issues when you go close up to the wall. There is no lag issues. However the flashlight lightining is great and some the environments set a great fear factor tone. The ghost look scary especially the main one and the movements are ghostly.
Sound - The sound in Calling depends on the language you chose. English voice acting is horrible. The Japanese voice acting is scary and great! The atmosphere and creaks capture the setting very well. The music when it's play is great on the ears. Piano and strings are used through out the game. I especially love the final theme.
Replay Value - After you beat Rin's story you will have to do the character Makato story as a hidden chapter. There is also a great feature when the ghost send you pictures to your Wii inbox. There are things to collect and extra chapters, but after you clear everything you won't be calling again.
Final Grade - Calling gets a C-. The good is the scares, japanese voice acting and gameplay controls and hidden chapters. The bad is the graphics, the english voice acting, the otaku character and the one time trip. If you are a horror junkie like me, then at least give Calling a rental and decide for yourself. If your not a fan of horror then this is one call you shouldn't answer.
NBA live is dead. EA Sports new nba franchise is NBA ELITE *link below* http://kotaku.com/5548380/nba-live-is-now-nba-elite
In 2010 its cool to hate NBA live but believe it or not Live brought NBA games to the main stream. Before Live the main basketball game was NBA showdown(see Justins amazing video on it for gameplay) before NBA showdown we had series like "Lakers vs Celtics" & "Bulls vs Blazers." Dont get me wrong I love those games but they had a cult following. With EA introducing Live, the entire world became basketball fans. EA started with a great commercial showing Tim Hardaway playing NBA Live, then Don Nelson grabbed it from him because he was ignoring the real game lol. NBA Live is the reason why im a gamer. I remember we played that game so much we use 2 turn off the calls, then play NBA Live street ball which became another game....CLASSIC.
Through out the genesis life cycle, NBA Live got better in every way every year. I remember playing LIVE 97 and thinking basketball games couldnt get any better than this... and to be honest I still think LIVE 97 is the best of its time. It did so much for Basketball Games(thats another post).
Once Live made the step to Playstation and Sega Saturn the problems started. Games like "In The Zone" started to rival the once king of the court. Shortly after 2K came out, Visual Concepts was right off the heels of making NBA Action 98 for the Saturn and learned alot from that project.
NBA 2k released on the dreamcast Fall 99....thats when NBA live died.
Years later, Live made several failed attempts to come back to the top. One of which was by adding Jordan(which was ruined when he came out of retirement to play for the wizards). One of LIVE'S most successful additions came in Live 03 when they added right stick dribble mechanics, then in Live 04 they added real life sneakers (LIVE 04has the best sneakers EVER!!!!!). Also the very next year EA made a dunk contest that was actually good(still the best dunk contest ever). All 3 moves that 2k eventually copied.
Thank you NBA LIVE for all the sweet memories & for taking basketball sims to a new level.
NOT FOR AIR was a group of shorts containing clips of old cartoons with fake bleeps over the dialogue to make it sound as though the characters were swearing. These also aired on Adult Swim during commercial breaks.
Once in a while I come across some videos on Youtube. These videos are usually fandubs and some are funny. But other just make me go why did you touch that. In this case here are certain videos, that made me go huh. Many of them made me giggle and laugh a little bit. Then some made me say man I wish I can kill you with a lightsaber. Check them out!
Lando The Nazi In this clip a Star Wars fan uses clips from other movies to make Han Solo, accussed Lando of being a Nazi. I did laugh at this one.
Qui Gon Jinn and Mace Windu in Return Of the Jedi - At the end of the clip Qui Gon and Mace return to look at Luke. Ummm Luke doesn't know these guys why would even try this. I'm not going to lie. I would put myself in this when I learn how to do.
Vader Makes Fun of Luke Just watch this scene. I laugh after the first time. Then it got annoying and pointless the second time.
Yoda Gay - Total Epic Fail.
The Real Mace Windu - Just pointless, just pointless. Even though I was dying to hear Mace say to Anakin, "Sit down Motherfucka."
