Survival Of The Dead Review

Here is the review of "Survival Of The Dead." Synopsis - Survival of the Dead takes place in a desperate, nightmarish world where the dead walk the earth, relentlessly attacking the living. It is the story of Plum Island - a beautiful refuge whose isolation allows two powerful families to maintain a semblance of order in the wake of the zombie holocaust. But as the inhabitants slowly die off, the two clans become sharply divided: The O'Flynns believe that the undead must be destroyed without exception, while the Muldoons insist that afflicted loved ones be kept "alive" until a cure is found. Into this situation wander a small group of National Guard troops who have decided to strike out on their own in an effort to survive.

DN Angel Review

Hello everyone. This is the review of DN Angel. Ever wondered of having a line of phantom thieves in your family? Just ask Daisuke Niwa. Daisuke has been in a long line of thieves that steal artwork. The reason they steal artwork is to stop it from harming others. Sounds strange right? Well things get weirder. Each boy in the Niwa family is to transform into Dark Mousey, the Legendary Phantom Thief. Its a very interesting story of love, drama, and action.

Meet Daisuke Niwa

Daisuke is a love-stricken, typical, lovable boy. Daisuke is in love with Risa and is able to change into Dark just by looking at her picture. Daisuke is a brilliant artist and is the first in his family to be one. Daisuke is friendly. He wants to give people a helping hand and has great determination. He has a pet named With who can change into Dark's wings.

Meet Risa and Riku

Risa and Riku are twins and their personalities are completely opposite. Risa is very princess like. She's deeply in love with Dark and will do anything to get his love (even if her life depended on it which it had before. No spoilers). Risa's love for Dark however, gets in the way with her life sometimes especially with Riku. Riku is more down to earth. She sees the way her sister acts towards Dark and thinks Risa is way over her head. Riku is very athletic and cares for her family and friends. She' strong and stubborn but she always looks out for her sister.

Meet Dark Mousey

How can I explain Dark. Well Dark's origin is still a mystery. All we know is that he has been around for ages in the Niwa bloodline. Dark is very romantic, sort of a womanizer and is very cocky. His nemesis is named Krad (which is Dark spelled backwards. You'll learn more about Krad and his story later in the series). He is so cute and uses With as his own personal black wings. Dark is also is like Daisuke's inner person and can talk to him. You'll also see how he can make Daisuke turn into him for a while and vice versa.

Story Line- The story line is something I love to see in a story. Mythological settings, magic, drama, and love, it's something everyone in every age would enjoy.

Animation/Graphics- The animation is awesome and I love how they used some 3D graphics to show something completely amazing in the scene. There is a setting where there is a fountain and it overlooks the ocean. It is so beautiful especially in a fav episode of mine.

Music- The music is beautiful in this show. It's very calm and tranquil. In one of my fav episode (I wish I could remember the song) fits with the emotion and sudden change in weather. Also the person who plays Daisuke in Japan sings the opening theme "True Light" and another song in the series. You should really just listen to the music. It sets such a mood.

Voice Actors- They picked awesome people to dub this show. One of my favorite voice actors of all time, Vic Mignogna, plays Dark Mousey and is awesome! I can't stress enough how talented Vic really is. All the other voice actors did an amazing job with bringing out the essences of the characters. I really enjoy it.

Overall Grade- I give this show an A. Like I said I love stories like this and I hope I can find more anime that will stand out like this one. Well until next time, Anime Rules!!!!!!!!!!!!

M.D. Geist Review

Justin Reviews the Anime Film M.D. Geist. Geist (the main character) is MD-02, a Most Dangerous Soldier, genetically engineered to function as a killing machine, but every one of the MDS units went homicidally insane. As a result Geist was placed in suspended animation in a stasis pod orbiting the planet Jerra until it crashed several years later, awakening him and bringing him into another war on the planet.

Perfect Blue Review

Justin reviews the Anime "Perfect Blue" directed by Satoshi Kon. The film is a psychological thriller about Mima Kirigoe, a member of a Japanese pop-idol group called "CHAM!", who decides to pursue her career as an actress. Some of her fans are displeased with her sudden career change, particularly the stalker named Me-Mania.

Theme Song Remixes (Part 1)

I was searching on Youtube today. I came across these great remixes of some our favorite themes. Some of the remixes are Hip Hop and the others are Rock. This is just part one of this great series. A big shout out to all the Youtubers who did a fantastic job on remixing our favorite themes. All these were enjoyable to hear. My favorite ones are the Final Fantasy X Hymm Remix, G Gundam Intro, Superman & Power Rangers. Musicians need to put lyrics to this stuff, so I can throw a Nerd Party lol. Enjoy my fellow Nerds & Otakus and try not to have a Nerdgasm lol.

Games We Would Like To See Remake

Today the team was talking and discussing on, what games we would like to see be remade. Now when remade can be just a graphic update, gameplay, sound or all of the above. Here is what Anime Angel had to say.

Persona Series

Anime Angel - I really don't game that much, but I love the Persona series. I know they did a remake for the PSP. For me it wasn't what I was expecting. I want a full remake in gameplay, graphics and music wise. They should keep the Anime cut scenes, however everything else needs a major upgrade. Persona for the PS3 and 360 would be a wonder to see especially Persona 4. With improved graphics and gameplay we will really see Shin Megami Tensei dark vision at it's max. Anime Rules!!!

Here is what Bess had to say. He had a few choices so check out his list.

Chrono Trigger

Final Fantasy VI

Flashback

Bess On Chrono Trigger - Before fanboys and fangirls start yelling "WE HAVE A DS VERSION." I just want to say that I don't consider that a remake. I consider that a repacking of the SNES game with a few new cut scenes and dungeons. A full remake with graphics, gameplay and orchestrated music is needed. Chrono Trigger doesn't deserve any less than that.

Bess On Final Fantasy VI - Justin will disagree with me. Final Fantasy VI is the best Final Fantasy and deserve a remake. I never played an RPG so addictive. The story is amazing, gameplay is great. We need to see this game with the best graphic update possible.

Bess On Flashback - Flashback is one of those games that needs to be revisited. It was great on Sega Genesis. The puzzles, gameplay and mission assignments were great. I couldn't put it down. With a remake we can get a better story and a more indepth look at the world of Flashback.

Nice choice Bess. Final Fantasy VII is the best lol.

Here is yours truly picks for remakes.

Dino Crisis

Valkyrie Profile

Fear Effect

Justin On Dino Crisis - Dino Crisis remake would be great. Capcom should use the gameplay of Resident Evil 4. With Resident Evil 4 gamplay and dino's running crazy this would be an epic win. Give us the best graphics and orchestrated score and we have a win.

Justin On Valkyrie Profile - Valkyrie Profile is a wonderful rpg, which I would like to see an update on graphics and full orchestrated score. This game doesn't need any changes to the gameplay.

Justin On Fear Effect - This is the game I want to see a PS3/360 Remake for. Fear Effect was such a great slept on game. Great story, great gameplay it even had nudity. This rated M PS1 game needs to be exposed to the new generation of gamers.

Please Teacher Review

Story
Kei Kusanagi, a high-school student living with his aunt and uncle, has an encounter with a female alien. This alien is revealed to be a new teacher at his school. Later, he is forced to marry this alien to preserve her secrets. From there, various romantically-inclined problems crop up repeatedly. Please Teacher is a very clever anime. I really like the story set up of now one of our classic anime cliches. Boy meets Alien Female who he happens to fall in love with. You'll probably wondering what separates "Please Teacher" from the others. Well for one this show has excellent pacing and characters. With only 12 episodes in the series and extra in the OVA, this anime delivers on the laughs and awkward moments. I like "Please Teacher" protagonist Kei Kusanagi. He is a very reserve shy boy.

However Kei suffers from a rare disease that puts him a comatose known as a "Stand Still." The "Stand Still" has Kei's appearance that of a 15 year old boy. The great twist about this is Kei is really 18 years old. He was in coma for three years. He's still in the 10th grade and blends in with his classmates by lying about his age. I like this obstacle because it leaves Kei not able to open up to anyone but Mizuho Kazami. Mizuho Kazami is the alien that landed on earth and happens to become Kei's new teacher. Kei finds out she is an alien and to hide her secret he marries her. Without spoiling it anymore. This anime has a bunch of twist and turns and awkard moments. One thing I would like to add is I love the sexual tension between the Kei and Mizuho. You'll see what I mean when you watch, it's funny.

Voice Acting
I really enjoy the voice acting in Please Teacher. Dave Wittenberg who plays Kei Kusanagi really brings his shy character to life. He doesn't disappoint us. He has a very unique voice. Bridget Hoffman plays Mizuho Kazami and she plays her with so much innoncence. You can't help but love her. Michelle Suzanne Ruff plays Koishi Herikawa. Somehow Michelle Ruff always plays the characters that annoy me. She also play Kiki in Mobile Suit Gundman 08th MS Team. However her performance is great as Koishi Herikawa. Koishi Herikawa is that girl who needs to know he's just not that into you. Needless to say the voice acting is good, but some other characters hold it back from being great.

Music
The music is very relaxing. Great use of piano, strings and sets a friendly and emotional tone depending on the scene. I'm looking for the soundtrack because it's enjoyable. The opening song "Shooting Star" by Kotoko is very cool song, I have it on my Ipod.

Final Grade - B- A fun story with comedy, romance and drama, that will keep you watching till the end. Great music that sets the tone. Wonderful pacing. Good voice acting however some characters hold it back. Please Teacher adds fan service in awkard ways as well. This is one class that you want to register for. Final Grade B-.

Real Life Gundam

This was shown last year. I decided to post some pictures of it. Last year in Tokyo they reveal a real life size Gundam. The Gundam has a moveable head, shoots smoke and many more. I thought as an Otaku Mech this was very cool. This was in honor of Gundam 30 year anniversity. This was ubercool. Now only if we can get a real life Veritech, or get this Gundam to get move and shoot.

School Days (Manga Review)

What happens when you mix two lovely girls and a boy? You get a love triangle that is destined to be filled with heartbreak, difficult choices and tears. The story revolves around a love triangle between the male protagonist, Makoto, and two girls in his year, Kotonoha and Sekai. Makoto develops an interest in Kotonoha, and although they both take the same train to school, she seems to be unaware of his existence. One of his classmates, Sekai, gets the two together despite holding strong feelings towards Makoto.

This Manga starts off sweet and lighthearted. However as the story progresses it gets dark really quickly. It has a very shocking ending, in which I will not spoil for you. What I really love about "School Days" is the characters. Makoto starts out as a innocent shy kid, but later on he turns out to be a typical male who plays with two girls emotions. All the characters are dynamic characters. Each one of these people go through a great change. As I was reading this I didn't know who I wanted to side with. I didn't know which girl I wanted to support more. Sekai loved Makoto from the beginning but can be viewed as a homewrecker. Kotonoha to me was the innocent one in all of this, but the ending will have you saying wow. The art is very great as you can see below. Each panel contains an emotional facial expression. There is an issue I didn't like. I felt that the story was rushed towards the ending. The build up was too fast to me. What happens to Kotonoha could have been explored a little more. Other than that "School Days" is a wonderful Manga. It will keep you reading towards the ending.

Final Grade - B+

Create Your Own Lightsaber Using After Effects

Last time we posted a tutorial on how to do your own Kamehameha blast. This time we found a tutorial on how to create your own lightsaber. We suggest that you have a toy lightsaber, that way you have the handle the piece to give it realism. I also included a short fight with guys who used the After Effects Lightsaber.
